This beautiful island is a wonderful garden oasis, full of beautifully laid out gardens, at the time of our visit the dahlias were in full full bloom. It is a must visit for lovers of great gardens.

Friends convinced us to take a boat from Meersburg, and I am happy they did. Trees, flowers, landscape, views, cafe in the main building, photo exhibition, all is so lovingly maintained and full of beauty. Can spend the whole day there.

You can travel by boat to Mainau if coming from elsewhere on the lake, or park and walk across the short causeway if coming from Konstanz.
