You can walk along the harbor and you get good views of the lake, you can see all the boats coming in and there are lots of restaurants.

If you walk down the end past the Aquarium there’s some nice walks along the waterfront. I even went for a little wade, and popped across the border to Switzerland. The area also has a good array of restaurants and bars at various price points

Lots of lakefaring vessels but also cafes and shade in the summer. The water is partially accessible in shallow areas.
