Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Excellent museum, with so many interesting items on display. A great experience for all ages and with a very reasonable entry fee. Very helpful and friendly volunteers.

This little historical village is not little at all. There is so much to see and explore. We couldn't believe how large it really was, we just kept finding more and more to see. The collection is far bigger than we expected and it is so well displayed and put together. Each room tells a different story and some rooms feel like you have taken a step back in time. I am proud that my town has such a beautiful tribute to the past. And the volunteers of the Hervey Bay Historical Village and Museum have done a remarkable job putting it all together.

Great value for money and a fabulous way to spend a few hours reminiscing about things from your parents, grandparents or even your own childhood.
My friend and I went on a Sunday morning and were really surprised at the size of the site and the quality of the varied exhibits. We had a few laughs and shared some stories along the way.
My favourite display of the Maheno wreck, Urangan Pier and Fraser Island brought back fond memories of my childhood, growing up in Hervey Bay.
TIP: Make sure you have a water bottle with you as there's nowhere mid-site to buy a drink, only at reception.
Full credit to the many volunteers who have done a wonderful job sharing and preserving history for everyone to enjoy.

My friend and I spent a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon at the Hervey Bay Museum. We were amazed at the size of the place. It looks deceivingly small from the entrance.
The volunteer staff are fantastic. They are friendly, helpful and do an incredible job maintaining a huge collection.
We were so impressed with the size and layout of the place. It bought back so many memories from our youth and our parents and grandparents times and we learnt so much about what it was like in the area when it was first colonized.
I can highly recommend visiting the Hervey Bay museum. Make sure you allow a couple of hours.

After paying A$10 each, we walked clockwise in and around the 22 fully exhibited buildings discovering lots of local interest, including; local rare Urangamite gems, Japanese glass fishing floats, gate sign quilt, pictures and furnishings of the new 1905 SS Maheno(wrecked on Fraser Is.), pictures and exhibits of Fraser Is logging, rare endemic Fraser Is. Creeper in bloom, 1903 Oldsmobile(cost $650), old grocery store with Campbell's soup and Kellog corn flakes and many old tractors, vehicles and equipment.

What a ripper place. My husband and I both in our 40s had a really great time at the museum. Spend a few hours looking around.
We especially enjoyed the exhibit about the SS Mahona wreak after seeing it on the beach at Fraser the day prior.
We’ll worth the visit.

A really excellent regional historical museum. We were not there on Sunday when the demonstrations occur .. I suspect that might bump it up to 5 stars
