Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This was a wonderful 1 hour canal (klong ; in Thai) tour !
After we had parked our car at Klong Kone temple, we bought this tour from "Uncle Lek" (700 baht) at a booth on the small harbour near the temple. We also spent an extra 300 baht buying a lot of bananas and sliced fresh corn to feed monkeys. It should be noted that the place was very quiet at the time we visited (due to Covid pandemic). Then, we were on a long-tail boat sailing along Klong Kone canal past the village to the mangrove forest. At the edge of the land where the canal flows into Gulf of Thailand, the driver cruised along the narrow passage inside a mangrove swamp. Here, we saw troops of macaques swam toward us (and tried to climb aboard, but the driver didn't allow them to do so) begging for food, so we started feeding them from the boat. What a very fun experience! After we had run out of food, we planted mangrove saplings on the muddy shore among the eyes of hundreds macaques and sailed back directly to the harbour. We didn't forget to visit and donate some money to the temple before we left.
Highly recommend.

Klong Klone is a monkey forest populated by lovely macacs, at the junction of river and sea
You get there by a short boat ride.
The attraction are the lively little monkeys that ride the trees branches and swim in the water.
Throw them treats in the water and they will scamper close to you.
Direct contact is forbidden.

Absolute must see attraction! This was my favorite part part of visiting Samut Songkhram. We travelled up and down the waterways used by blood cockle fishermen and through mangrove forests. Watching the monkeys swarm the beaches as we boated through in Hope's of getting some food was surreal. Absolutely worth exploring!

This is a must do! We headed here as part of a day excursion out of Bangkok. It is close to 90 minutes from the city. We arrived and changed into swimsuits and then headed out on a long tail boat. We boated up the river into the mangroves where we were greeted by a few monkeys. Our guide had purchased some bananas prior and as soon as we pulled them out a few monkeys turned into a hundred of them. It was very exciting! After we fed them, our guide pulled the boat onshore where we planted some baby mangrove plants. Then we headed out to try mud skiing -the was fantastic!
We returned and ate lunch at the local restaurant. Scenery was great, food was terrific, and overall day was amazing.
