This market is held twice a week. It is well worth the time to stroll through the various vendors. It is a huge market, considering the fact that Cassis is a small town. This market takes up the entire center of the town and some side streets. It is comprehensive with, baked goods ,cheeses, fresh produce, meat and poultry as well as dry goods. Dresses, belts, shoes, you name it, it is there. In today’s world many of these vendors accept credit cards. If you’re into C for any length of time, definitely spend some time in this wonderful outdoor market.

This is where the French tourists come . The weather is perfect, the views delightful & the prices great. It’s their Sale day of the year and we happen to be in town. Beautiful homewares, fashions and Artisan gourmet products.

Part of the wonderful French culture involves weekly markets in most villages and towns and even cities like Aix-en-Provence (Tuesday and Thursday). Cassis is already one of the most beautiful port towns in France, offerings dramatic views, great dining and a relaxed spirit. The weekly market, on Wednesday and Friday, is bustling with lots of variety; food, clothing, one-off gifts and more. If you're visiting Cassis or even staying nearby then coming to the market is a must. The only disappointment was that we discovered two dishonest vendors. One was a baker on Rue Alexandre Gervais that kept changing the prices of cookies we tried to buy - we were here for a week and he finally realized we figured out what he was doing. The other was a cheese monger across from the baker next to an olive vendor. He would have you order the cheese and then come up with different prices. It reminded me that regardless of the beautiful places in the world there are those that will still take advantage. Avoid these two vendors.

This market is only open 2 days a week, I think, on Wednesdays and Fridays. GO if you can!! We were a group of 6 that stopped by on a guided tour shore excursion so we only had a limited amount of time. We could have spent hours here. There was something for everyone. Just a partial list...jewelry, clothing, handmade items, soaps/fragrances, fresh produce, fresh meats/cheeses/breads/pastries, pottery and home goods. We were looking for the essential oil-lavender-which comes from the lavender ONLY grown in this region and is famous for medicinal qualities. You have to search for it (don't get oil made from the cousin flower-lavendin as the fragrance is there, but not the medicinal qualities). You will need to ask for "fine lavender" or "lavande fine". Not many vendors spoke English, but they are friendly and we were able to get sausage, cheese, loaf of bread, fruit, cookies and tapenade for a picnic lunch. Absolutely one of our favorite meals! We loved being able to go and would highly recommend this experience!

Visited the market on a Wednesday morning but it is also heldon a Friday. Lots of clothing stalls and still setting up at around 8am so nice and quiet and you didn’t have to fight your way through people to see the goods for sale. A number of food stalls with the vendors eager to hand out delicious samples for you to try. Some were a little pushy but most were lovely and happy to stand back and let you look. I would advise not buying from the first stall where you see something as you may find the exact thing two stalls further away for half the price!

We were on a day-trip out of Toulon during a cruise stop, and this was something that our driver thought we should see. The Cassis’ market occurs every Wednesday and Friday morning from 8:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. The market bustles with offerings of food, including olives, cheese, sausage, pastries, fresh produce, spices, and loaves of bread. You can also purchase soaps and fragrances, clothing, shoes, jewelry, handmade items, and much more. There is something for everyone. I don’t think many vendors spoke English, but that didn’t seem to be a problem. We enjoyed our short visit to the market, and I would recommend this quaint experience if you are going to be in Cassis on a Wednesday or Friday. Any trip to a French village or small town should probably include a visit to their local market. The town of Cassis is a beautiful little Mediterranean port village with a small beach. The area offers a lot of touristic things to see and do. I would love to return someday for an extended stay.

Highly recommend the colorful Cassis market- most enjoyable. Occurs Wednesday and Friday mornings. Easiest parking is located on the side of the post office/near the Casino, and the market is adjacent to this parking area. This is a small lot, but there are at least 2 other parking lots within a 5 minute walk of the market. Great variety of olives, cheese, sausage, tapenades, spices, and breads. There are also a few stalls for the local soap, as well as clothing, and shoes. Really a nice and manageable selection. Grab lunch from the vendors, a bench by the marina, and face the castle ruins looming over the town on the cliff- bon appetite!

There’s nothing like a French market to assail the senses! And this one didn’t disappoint! It’s full of colour, smells and wonderful sights. Whether you’re browsing, buying or just looking, don’t go to Cassis, and miss it! Great fun, and very photogenic.

This delightful market has very high-quality products, especially the food! A wide variety of cheeses, olives, breads, and other local products. The clothes and leather and olive-wood items are also high quality for a market. The sales people are friendly and engaging, even if you speak (especially if you speak?) limited French. Eager to sell, of course, but not pushy. I only wish I could have bought more! I happened to be there on May 8, which commemorates the end of WW II, and there was a little ceremony to honor the war dead at one side of the market. Very moving. The market site is really beautiful (which, of course, is true of everywhere in Cassis).

Parking has greatly improved with the construction of a multi-storey (underground) parking garage. The visit to Cassis is much more enjoyable. A trip to see the Calanques is definitely worth the cost. A delightful little, less overwhelming version of St Tropez, etc.

It is Wednesday not sure it’s another day. Very nice market with vegtables, flowers, cloths, cheese, olives and butcher.

Mercredi et vendredi matin pour le marché normal, samedi matin pour le marché producteur. Attention de ne pas prendre de viande le samedi, le gars est hors de prix et la viande ab de qualité pitoyable (périmée remballée direct poubelle)
