About
We are a British-owned, 100% independent business whose owners have been in the Cross Channel trade since it began in 1993! We stock a huge range of wines and beers at UK duty-free prices. Not having to pay UK duty means we can pass on savings of up to 60% on UK retail prices - on average, this means you save £4 a bottle on UK supermarket prices - often the savings are even more. We aim to have everyday low prices but whenever we can, we'll give you even better deals and special offers. We offer free crossings on both the Ferry and on Euro Tunnel. Check out our website for more details.

This morning was my first shopping at the Wine store. I would like to say how pleased I was of the service.
Excellent and speed service with very kind and polite staff. I would definitely recommend this store to everyone and definitely will come back. Great choices of wines at excellent prices. 5*****

Choose Wines for Weddings!
Dec. 2019
Going back for another kid's wedding supplies! The Calais Wine Superstore has done the business for three other kids' wedding wines and we had a great way to make them part of the preparations again this time! Try it!

It makes the wedding begin with a great fun experience to share - quality time you'll never get the chance to re-create!

Here's how to do it:

* Arrive with the happy couple off your Channel crossing. Give them a budget (per bottle price - be generous!) and set them off choosing whites and reds.
* Give them suggestions from your own past CWS experience and the current price list. Direct them to the tasting room.
* Then, choose six whites and six reds and buy one bottle of each.....
* Next, wrap each of them in big brown envelopes to hide the labels.
* Then go outside and settle down on the roundabout outside the Warehouse.
* Open the picnic basket (bought in advance) with choice of breads, savoury biscuits, pates etc.
* Open the bottles and taste them one by one.
* Take your time, savour the wines........
* Decide which you/they like best.
* Go back in and buy loads of the chosen bottles!
* Pack the car and set off for lunch/the crossing return!
* Never forget how luck you all are!

Always drink responsibly! Maybe choose one Driver by drawing lots!!!

The Calais Wine Superstore is the best, the ONLY, Warehouse to visit. The staff are friendly, knowlegable and willing to help.
We wish the business great success in whatever form it is able to continue or be re-born. Thanks for great service over 15 years!

If you are buying a lot of wine you must go to Calais Wine. The super markets are a pain with there food trolleys and long queues. Calais wine have your order ready, you can swap on the day. Best place in France to buy wine and I have shopped all over France. 10/10

Nearly forgot you can do in a day with a free train ticket. I set off from York at 5am and got back at 5.30 on my own and saved about £1,500 on Tesco try and do on a Sunday and the roads should be clear GO BEFORE THE RULES CHANGE on December 31st

A very satisfied customer

We don’t usually bother taking much / if anything back to the UK with us after holidays as the idea of it always seems like a faff.

With the superstore however there really is no faff factor. They’ve got an easy to use website, suspiciously cheap prices and everything ready and waiting for you on a trolley on arrival.

We bought in the £1.99 to £3.99 range in an attempt to be thrifty and have now tried 4 of the 8 wines we bought and they’ve all been really rather nice!

Very happy, the place is super convenient and well worth a visit - even without the free crossing.

Simply the best

I am always unsure about leaving fab reviews on a purely selfish note. What happens if demand outstrips supply but they deserve it.
Every trip they are most welcoming, they genuinely seem happy you are there.
The wine is great, I don't know how they make it so cheap..tax I assume!
The cheap wines do not mean they are rank, far from it. I would probably just stay clear of the £1.49 Spanish.
I have not bought a supermarket bottle for years, and may never ever. Covid or not.
The poor reviews are historic and not very accurate. You can see everything online before you visit.
See you again soon, I will happily quarantine for a fortnight and your merchandise will help me get through it!

Fantastic Service
Aug. 2020
Wow! The same day France was declared off-limits without 14 days quarantine, Jordan from Calais Wine Superstore rang to ask me if I wanted a refund for my day trip planned for next week. So far this year I have had to cancel five overseas trips, and the hassle in getting my money back has ranged from a long phone wait to the Small Claims Court procedure. Calais Wine Superstore were by far the most proactive helpful people in this respect. Many thanks, and we will be back as soon as the quarantine is lifted.

It's very good to hear that we were able to assist you quickly with contingency measures in these difficult times - thank you very much for taking the trouble to describe your experience. We take particular pride in our level of customer service, so it's good to hear that you were impressed by our proactive response. Having said that it's worth noting that we are actually still open for business, so - for those happy to self isolate for 14 days on their return to the UK - now is a great time to stock up from our fantastic range of quality wines. We look forward to seeing you in store again soon.

Another excellent trip to Calais Wines Store. Pre ordered beforehand and used one of their free eurotunnel.

A great selection of wines available, tasting room not available to try before you buy but understand why.

Worthwhile trip and saved over £££

I'll be back!

OUR VISIT ON 16.07.20
Jul. 2020
This was our first visit since January 2020 and just before the dreaded corona virus outbreak which closed down all travel etc and made our wine stock drop down to a dangerous level and thank goodness the Calais wine store is open again and stacked full of good value quality wines. As usual, we pre-booked our order and travelled on the Eurotunnel useing the free issue ticket. All of the wines we selected were in stock which was great and look forward to returning again in October to stock up for Christmas before the barriers go up in January 2021.

Thank you so much for taking the trouble to write this wonderful review! When you place a pre-order the wines you have selected are put aside for you at the currently advertised price - so it would only be on the rare occasion that someone else has ordered the last stock at the same time as you that the items you want are not available. Also it's worth noting that we can accept pre-orders up to three months in advance of collection. For those who are happy to self isolate for 14 days on their return to the UK we are still open with the same great range of quality wines at exceptionally reasonable prices. We look forward to seeing you in store again soon!

Best service ever
Jul. 2020 • Couples
We visited with a very loose list of what we wanted, which given it is only just after COVID-19 lock down we were not expecting too much. The man that helped us knew his wines and was from Northern Ireland and therefore we were able to chat with him and make our choices accordingly. Don't go to a soulless chain go to this independent shop it is worth it.
