The Abbey is very easy to get to. There is a large lot to park, for a small fee, and then they have a free shuttle bus to take you over the bridge to the island. Other than the parking there is no charge. Getting...More

Worth the trip! Very impressive 8th century Abbey on the island of Mont Saint Michel off the coast of Normandy. Lots of walking required. Also, shops, restaurants, bars, local crafts.

Not to miss this enchanting place built in the 700s. Cannot believe how beautiful it is and ever changing with the tide. Magical , old structures which are being renovated in spots.

Absolutely stunning and worth taking your time over, we used the audio guide so that we could go at our own pace. Lots of steps so care needed if you have any mobility issues, but well worth it! My camera also loved it!

We went for 1day trip it was amazing. Fog was just going up when we arrived on our bikes. The best way is to stay in Portonson and use cycling path or walk or drive to Mont st Michael. Worth visiting. Near to Portonson is...More

You can see the Abbey for miles. It is truly a gorgeous place to visit. There are roughly 3,700 steps and it is all steep but if you can do the walk I highly recommend it. It is truly a once in a lifetime experience....More

Truly a one-of-kind places on earth and not to be missed. Stay on the island because you can and you will be happy you did. Great at night when the crowds have gone.

The abbey was well worth a visit although I don't know why anyone would come here and not visit the abbey. The audio guide is worth the extra 3 euro and has some interesting information. I think a tour would probably be a good idea...More

The history and pure view of this dwelling dwarfs any photo you'll see. It's an urban explorer's dream!

It is one of the go to places in France...so go and be amazed. Highly recommend you use an Abbey guide (Helen is great) as there is so much history to the place. What else can be said as everyone recommends the Abbey.

Not sure about the access times but we walked from the shuttle pick up to the island and it took about 1/2 hour. The shuttle drop off is on the bridge and only takes a few minutes to the main entrance.
