Though the oldest house in Arras is located on the square (look for red brick building with step-like gables) it seems to be more used as a parking lot then for people. There are some businesses around the edge, but not many of them seemed...More

Great square with shops and cafes. The buildings all look slightly different to each other and look amazing lit up at night.

For the non-European traveller, it feels very typically French. We found it beautiful and were able to find a fair amount of places to eat and drink that were very pleasant.

you will find something to suit your taste in the square. Bars and restaurants all round the circumference, and we had a bonus: a huge open market on Saturday morning.

This is an impressive square, it's a shame it's full of cars. There is a parking garage underneath the square. A bit difficult walking on the cobble stones , but it gives the square that bit extra.

The buildings in this area are amazing and it's worth walking around and having a good look. But be careful cars park in this area and the drivers do not always pay attention to people wanting to look at the buildings.

Yes it's a place but is it genuinely grand when compared to that in Brussels or Bruges? No it's a massive square bereft of character and many bars restaurants were closed during our August visit, nip next door to the place d'heroes for more character.
