Lac de Gaube can be reached via the cabin- and chairlift (2) (and a 15min. walk to the lake) from Pont d' Espagne (tourist office/entrance-ticket box office)(15 € / adult for round-trip) or you'll opt for the walk/climb by foot (1h30). Enjoy the splendid views...More

Been here for both extremes Summer and Winter. Summer is best in my opinion as you get to explore numerous paths that are too dangerous in the winter. The walk to the lake is an easy one from the ski-lift (haven't done it from the...More

Take the telecabine and then the teleferique directly yo the lake, preserve your energy for the 2h path leading from the lake to the refuge oulettes gaube, where you'll enjoy the stunning view of the glacier des oulettes, simply spectacular!

Absolutely stunning scenery - easy access for two young boys (11 & 8) and made for a great walk of a few hours. We did in the early evening when heat was less but was still very comfortable. Well recommended!

A wonderful and challenging hike up (use two walking sticks!) leads you up to this mountain lake surrounded by mountains. Plan to spend some time there exploring, wading, jumping in (brrrr) and playing. We also ate lunch in the cafe there. Unparalleled view!
