I was luckily enough recently to have a few days in Noosa (glad to live on the QLD side of the border at the moment!). I have been there before and even taken my bike so I could explore the surrounding hinterland. However, this time I decided to take a guided tour with VeloRoo as I wanted someone who knew the area and the best bike friendly roads (rather than me trying to wing it and getting lost and not really getting the most of the time I had). I am so pleased I did. VeloRoo looked after me all the way; from our start at Noosa beach (blue sky, white sand, rolling waves – almost didn’t want to leave but glad we did) to our finish point back at my hotel. We were blessed by a magnificent warm winter morning (sorry southerners) and not much traffic getting out of Noosa and into the hills. The roads were smooth, the scenery sublime and Steve provided a running commentary of the history and interesting facts of the area we were riding through which made this more than just a ride in the hills. All the while the VeloRoo ‘support wagon’ followed us in case we needed anything. If you love to ride and are lucky enough to be in the Sunshine Coast area of Queensland, I recommend getting the Veloroo team to guide you. You could try and navigate your own way – I have done this before – however having someone know the best routes based on your riding ability and what is happening in the area was invaluable.

Hi Lisascottward,
Thank you so much for sharing your recent VéloRoo ride, our guest reviews mean a lot to us :)
We are thrilled that our cracking ride added to your Noosa holiday ... and got you back before curfew ;)
We really do love sharing the great climbs and smile inducing descents with people, they're little hidden gems!
We believe there's real hidden treasures found behind the coast, thats why we call it the Emerald behind the Azure and makes every Noosa and the Sunshine Coast holiday even more epic!
We can't wait to put together your multi stage iconic with your Brisbane peloton!

First I have to apologize for talking so long to write my review, especially since my wife and I had an amazing time. Steve, Julia and Neal are awesome. If you ride with VeloRoo you will have a fantastic experience period! I quickly told my cycling buddies back at home. In fact, one of my buddies rode the Pyrenees in Autumn of 2019 (see dalapple review) and said it was trip of a lifetime.
My wife and I did the July Pyreness/South of France tour. From a cycling standpoint, we are at completely different levels. I ride close to 6000 miles a year and love climbing. My wife is new to cycling and was just starting to use clip in pedals about 5 months before our trip. That said, Veloroo is able to accommodate the ride for everyone. They make the rides flexible for the riders. For example, instead of riding the entire Col de Tourmalet, Veloroo drove my wife and several riders up halfway and they were able to ride the rest to the summit. On any given day, you can ride as much as you want or at any time take a nice break.
We were very fortunate to ride with a group of riders primarily from Australia. And close friendships were quickly made during the trip and remain afterward.
A couple of shoutouts....
Julie, thank you for making things run so smoothly. I know it requires a lot of preparation and attention to detail. You did a marvelous job and are awesome. Steve is a lucky guy to have you.
Steve, your positive attitude, sense of humor, and passion really made our trip. I appreciate all of the help you did with my wife. She really appreciated it as well and is even more motivated to get more climbing under her belt.
Neal, we really appreciated all of your help and tips. We love all of your great stories and insight. Most of all you are one of the nicest guys you could meet.
VeloRoo really does treat you like family and you become part of their extended family after you ride with them.
Cycling to me is a passion and is potentially something that my wife and I can share doing together. After this trip, my wife has gotten the cycling bug and has already started planning for local rides that we can do together. I consider that a success.
Thank you VeloRoo -- simply amazing and a little bit bazaar

Haha, Hey Cycling_Guy1
Waiting to review was worth it....you're our first review for 2020.... how's that for amazing and a little bit bizzzzarrre!
We love that our guests become more than guests and do become friends and we get to make meaningful connections with so many incredible people, like yourselves. I still love that you recognised the neon Boulangerie sign in the Pyrénées from the training program you were using in the lead up to your holiday - that was funny!
It was fantastic to share the Cevennes and Pyrénées with you both, we love these regions for their authenticity and the genuine nature of the people. These two areas are seldom explored but reward those who love adventuring and discovering.
For us the magic of cycling is your immersion into your surroundings and the memories that you take away, those moments and feelings that you simply miss from behind the window of a car or bus.
Igniting a passion to continue cycling as we have done with your wife is the absolute best for us, we love that your holiday has had such an impact. For someone so new, she rode brilliantly!
We can't wait to share the road with you guys again and of course look forward to hearing the progression updates :)
Thank you again for taking the time to share your VéloRoo experience with everyone,
Steve and Julia

Quarantine exercise bike and weights hire
Outstanding, booking as soon as 'checked in' and delivered the next day. Very easy to order and answered any questions I had on setting up the computer on the bike - having kilometres instead of miles.
Basically a life saver that made a very tedious 2 weeks more enjoyable.

Fantastic gravel bike weekend ride. It was great having the support bus and trailer following us, which meant that we could access our day bag if needed.
The route was well planned, with a wide range of riding conditions and scenery.
The High Country around Crows Nest is a hidden gem and it was great exploring the area with Graveloroo

brilliant long weekend trip with mates and VelaRoo. From pickup to drop-off everything went incredibly smoothly. Not having to think about hotels, transport, logistics and just enjoy the country roads and tracks is the best way to go riding. Steve's connection to regional groups gave us access to little known back roads. I would strongly recommend going with VeloRoo

Hi be_sing1,
Isn’t gravel just so much fun! And we are so happy that you enjoyed the level of effort we put into making the event run smoothly. It is a pleasure to connect visitors to locals and the combined joys of those interactions!
Here's to next time :) maybe on the new bike! 😉

A word of caution amongst all the dithyrambic writings of fellow customers:
if your bike breaks down you will be charged for its repair on the basis that VeloRoo's bikes are handed to you in perfect condition and will only breakdown if you mishandle them. If you argue, you are wasting your time.
One other thing: Steve has a rather unusual mobile phone in that he can send you text messages but does not receive the messages you send in reply. This was another source of discord. I could go on about other unsatisfactory details but for the sake of briefness will end simply by wishing you good luck with your VeloRoo bike.

We've hired cycles around the South of France for the last 5 years for our long cycling weekend in September. Veloroo were by far the best company we've come across.
Their cycles are first class and extremely well maintained, they deliver and collect for a reasonable fee, they are really knowledgeable in the area and above all Julia and Steve are really nice people.
You wont find better!

Hi jonmhoward, we are so delighted that our bikes were the best you have rented in the South of France. It was great to meet you both and we loved hearing about some of the great rides you both did. Hopefully this visit was the first of many for you ;)
Thank you for sharing your experiences,we really appreciate your comments.

Wow! Where to start? Initially I was a little hesitant To book as I thought I may not see as much of France on this bike tour as one that moves from town to town. I was wrong, and so happy with the whole experience that I went back for 3 extra days, with Steve taking me on accompanied rides!!
Steve and Julia are such friendly and welcoming hosts that you feel comfortable right away. The accommodation at Le Cerisier was wonderful, the Focus CAYO EVO bike I used was fantastic and the food was fabulous (the most consistently good food I had during 9 weeks in France).
I was fortunate that the weather was mid-high 20s each day and clear (aside from 1 thunderstorm) and there was very little wind. The days generally consisted of a morning ride though the varied and stunning landscape. With September being grape harvesting, there was loads of activity (but not on the road), with tractors, grape harvesting and grape processing. The pace of the rides suited all of our abilities with plenty of time for photos, lots of hill climbs and magnificent switchbacks, KOMs if you want to, sweeping descents . . . we earned our lunches. In the afternoons we were shown different towns, ruins and chateaus.
It was great not having to think about directions and routes, we were able to follow Steve without a worry of getting lost, and concentrate on the scenery and riding. If there were any concerns or hungry riders, we knew Julia was right there in the support vehicle, or catching a snap of us!
It was sad when the week came to an end. I had a day in Montpellier and decided to head back and have 3 more days of "accompanied rides" with Steve. It was a great way to see some other countryside and attempt some big climbs. My proudest was a 12km 8% climb! mixed in with the 130km day, but moved on before I could attempt the HC :-)
I am hoping to return again. Thanks Julia and Steve for a fabulous time and for introducing me to the friendliest and my new favourite area of France!

My husband and I are interested in renting bikes for about an hour in St Genies with some direction about a enjoyable route. We are bicycle riders, not cyclists. Is this possible? Thank you for your help!
