a couple of quiet gravel days with friends.... no pressure, no problems, simple and clean accomodation, great food and wine and laughter. and quiet time too if you wanted. well organised and clear briefings. no traffic. lots of open space and fresh air.

Fantastic gravel bike weekend ride. It was great having the support bus and trailer following us, which meant that we could access our day bag if needed.
The route was well planned, with a wide range of riding conditions and scenery.
The High Country around Crows Nest is a hidden gem and it was great exploring the area with Graveloroo

We did a Pyrenees trip with Veloroo and it was incredible. We did four days of riding at our own pace, climbing seven peaks from the iconic cols to hidden gems with views and riding that were every bit as good, or better, than the climbs we had seen on broadcasts of the Tour.
Luz-Saint-Sauveur is a perfect home base. It is a lovely, pastoral town with all the amenities and a relaxed setting perfect for after-ride beverages while we reviewed all our photos.
We loved riding in late September. Without the huge crowds, we had the roads to ourselves. We could climb at our own pace without worrying about other riders and without having strangers in any of our pictures! The towns were quiet which meant that we could wander in peace and not have to worry about reservations or waiting for a table. Not to mention the fact that we didn’t have to contend with very many vehicles on the roads. In fact, on a few rides, I can’t remember passing a single car on the entire climb, and descent!
September temperatures are ideal for riding. It was cool, but not cold, so we weren’t drenched with sweat from the summer heat and we didn’t have to worry about dehydration, saddle sores, or getting sunscreen in our eyes. Having the support vehicle allowed us to add/remove layers depending on the temperatures. Weather was a little varied on our trip, but Steve and Julia did an amazing job working with it to make our rides a success. Sometimes we only had to wait ten minutes and it changed to sunshine. There is no such thing as bad weather, just bad gear choices!
Our riding was particularly amazing because the leaves were changing and the Fall colours made the scenery even more incredible. At higher elevations, there was snow, so the mountains looked amazing. It doesn’t get much better than cresting the summit of the Tourmalet when it’s snow-capped!
This was our second trip with Steve and Julia. We were nervous before the trip because we weren’t sure that our legs would hold up to these iconic climbs. Steve allowed us to ride at a comfortable pace for us. We can’t enjoy the ride if we are blazing up the road or struggling at the summit! Steve’s encouragement made the ride fun and we never felt pressure to go faster than we wanted to ride. He is a great motivator and really helps us to relax and enjoy the ride. While we are pounding the pedals, it’s great to have Steve point things out and to help us notice the beauty of the landscape around us. It isn’t always easy to do when the legs feel heavy!
Our rides were made all the more enjoyable because we knew that Steve and Julia were taking tons of pictures! We could take our own photos when we wanted to, but we could focus on turning over the pedals instead of grabbing the perfect shot of a rainbow, or a panoramic view of the Pyrenees.
While we spent most of our time riding with Steve, Julia’s work in the support vehicle was so appreciated. She has an uncanny way of being in exactly the right place when you need a water bottle refill or to take off a layer of gear. Plus, she also takes some amazing photos when we don’t even know she is photographing us.
The accommodation and meals were also amazing. Steve and Julia have found a great spot in Luz-Saint-Saveur that is comfortable and well-kept. All our meals were excellent and we really enjoyed dining with Steve and Julia after a day in the saddle.
A highlight from our trip was our off-day because it was so unexpected. We could tell from the weather forecast that we would be getting a dump of rain, but it allowed us to wander around town, shop, and sightsee. We stopped at a brasserie for lunch and noticed a bunch of cars with bikes on the top. Soon, we saw team vans and buses. We didn’t think much of it but assumed that it was a training day for local riders.
When we returned to the hotel, we mentioned it to Steve and Julia. A few minutes later, Steve excitedly called us and told us that a U23 UCI race was passing through town that afternoon. Instead of enjoying an afternoon off, Steve and Julia jumped into action. They found the route and we jumped into the van to find the perfect place to watch the race and cheer the riders on. We got to see some of the best young riders in the world without swarms of camper vans!
Another highlight was climbing Troumouse. We spent the morning climbing Tentes and as we did, a small Porsche club passed us. We saw them at the summit and chatted about the cars and enjoyed the scenery. After our descent, we stopped for lunch at Gavarnie, only to see the Porsche club at another table. When finished, we headed out and over to climb Troumouse. About five kilometers from the summit, the Porsche club passed us again! This time they honked and cheered, shocked that we had climbed Tentes and were almost up to the summit of a second climb.
We also love the beautiful Veloroo kit we were given during the trip. Riding in it now that we are back home is a great way to remember our amazing rides in the Pyrenees.

Dear megandV3125AV,
Thank you for such a beautifully detailed review from our time in the Pyrénées!
I'm sorry it took so long to reply, I hadn't realised my iPad wasn't configured to reply to Trip Advisor!
We are so glad you enjoyed the Pyrénées in all their natural glory, in the stunning autumn season. How incredible was the snow on Tourmalet!
We really love creating cycling holidays that are different from the normal, even in destinations that are so well known.
We are delighted that you loved the pace of the holiday. It was so much fun sharing the experiences with you.
We really try to tailor our experiences to suit our guests wants and needs and we're thrilled we met yours.
Please feel free to share your VéloRoo kit photos!
We look forward to the next time!

Hired a spin bike for 5 weeks while I was visiting family. The bike was awesome, it was almost new and felt very solid. It was easy to set up and get going with responsive controls.

brilliant long weekend trip with mates and VelaRoo. From pickup to drop-off everything went incredibly smoothly. Not having to think about hotels, transport, logistics and just enjoy the country roads and tracks is the best way to go riding. Steve's connection to regional groups gave us access to little known back roads. I would strongly recommend going with VeloRoo

Hi be_sing1,
Isn’t gravel just so much fun! And we are so happy that you enjoyed the level of effort we put into making the event run smoothly. It is a pleasure to connect visitors to locals and the combined joys of those interactions!
Here's to next time :) maybe on the new bike! 😉

Quarantine exercise bike and weights hire
Outstanding, booking as soon as 'checked in' and delivered the next day. Very easy to order and answered any questions I had on setting up the computer on the bike - having kilometres instead of miles.
Basically a life saver that made a very tedious 2 weeks more enjoyable.

I got in touch with Julia to hire a spin bike for quarantine and she delivered on a Sunday! I was also given a free micro fibre towel which was a lifesaver in the hotel where I couldn’t easily dry anything (no balcony). Super cheap hire price for 2 weeks and it kept my training going while I was stuck in that room.

I joined a cycling group tour of the northern Sunshine Coast with Veloroo. Steve and Julia were fantastic hosts. The route took in some amazing back roads and fantastic scenery. Steve kept the crew in order and together despite a wide range of abilities. I’ve done a few cycling tours in Victoria and also Germany and this one was the best because of the way the hosts ran it. Would highly recommend one of these tours for all cycling abilities.

Our Crew were supposed to ride in the South of France earlier this year, that’s now hopefully going to happen some time in the future, but we had a taste of it this morning with a Sunshine Coast Regional Ride. Great day out-thanks Steve & Julia for your planning, looking after us, tour guiding, and running repairs on our bikes! Well worth it.

My husband and I are interested in renting bikes for about an hour in St Genies with some direction about a enjoyable route. We are bicycle riders, not cyclists. Is this possible? Thank you for your help!
