Great walkway to get out of the city proper. Fascinating to see the accomplishments of ages past. Visit also allows for some great pictures of the old city.

This isa UNESCO listed site and the engineering remains as it was 350 years ago. The magic site of boats going up and down the nine locks never ceases to be interesting. The site has just undergone a major refurbishment and the entry is now...More

Thank you very much for your nice comment ! A boat trip is indeed a very nice way to experience the locks of Fonseranes! There are also now 2 new tools to learn more about the site : the 3D immersive show, and the audioguides....More

Still it is quite unusual to see 7 consecutive locks, built 350 years ago, without machines, and still functional ! ;) Have a nice stay in Béziers !

Well worth a visit. Easy access for walkers, cyclists or the disabled. Dog friendly too. We chose to take a boat ride through the locks but there are other alternatives for a longer trip. Or if you prefer you can hire a small boat and...More

Much improved over the years. Nice to see the locks in good working order. We are a family of 6 and could not afford to go on the canal boat trip as it's very expensive. We just had a nice walk along the canal instead...More

It's good to see a lock ladder in working use but not much else around. On site cafe was expensive and service very slow. Tip, if you are planning to use the little ' Bezier town train' to do some sightseeing, then as it stops...More

Blasting sunshine. Obviously spent a lot of money on the refurbishment. New car park and a walkway from the car park to the locks, which is great. Love the locks what a tremendous feat of engineering. Would have been good to have some shade it...More

Visited the locks whilst staying in Beziers. The recently completed renovation of the locks had been carried out to a very high standard; there is now ample parking close by but we used the special bus which travels hourly between Beziers (bus stop outside the...More

Waited over a year in anticipation of huge improvements and was slightly disappointed - it could have been better! Limited facilities and did not spot any picnic areas (might have missed them).More
