The chateau and its gardens are well worth visiting. We came on a sunny & hot public holiday afternoon and after a short walk to admire the panorama, we collapsed on one of the many lawns to idle away the time.

Great place for a family stroll on a Sunday. The castle has been also renovated on the facades, which now look stunning.

Very nice place to visit, peaceful And also perfect place to do some jogging. You will find the people doing their sports on weekend there and serounded by nice traditional cafes. Perfect place to visit away from the traffic and commercial places.

The museum is a specialised archaeological museum not based around the chateau but you can just wander in the courtyard and see the chapel without paying the entrance fee.

I've stayed in Saint-Germain-en-Laye more than once and love this town a quick ride to the west of Paris, and easily accessible by train. Although overshadowed by Versailles, 20-30 minutes away, the Chateau de St. Germain is beautiful in its own right and offers a...More

Do you have to pay to enter the chateau and/or gardens? If so, roughly how much? Thanks.
