Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The exterior of this old abbey church, now a collegiate church, is impressive although right now it is a disaster because the entire area around the square is under construction. From the outside you can see part of the Romanesque levels with semicircular arches and how the Gothic pointed arches rise higher. Its four towers are beautiful, although those on the façade at the foot have exaggerated finishes that I presume are not from the period. The interior presents the four transition levels with the nave arcades, the gallery, the triforium and the clerestory that run throughout the temple except for the counterfaçades. A neo-Gothic wooden gallery supports the organ at the foot of the central nave.
It makes the cathedral pale.

If you are looking for a beautiful gothic masterpiece, this is one to visit. It's smaller than Reims but less crowded and has some really interesting windows (it was not bombed during the wars) and altarpieces.

Also visit Cathedrale Saint Etienne.

It's a very interesting 12th century early Gothic church and it's on the Unesco list. It doesn't look like it has gone thru a restoration recently as it shows scars and bruises of time. Surprisingly it's quite bright inside as lots of light pours thru the stained windows into the interior. Also it has an amazing triptych The Adoration of the Magi attributed to Pieter Coecke van Aelst, a 16th century Flemish artist (never heard of him before, so it took me awhile to translate his name from French to find the info). Ample and inexpensive street parking nearby.

This was a lovely cathedral, but not quite as stunning as the Basilica Notre-Dame L'Épine or as immense as the Notre-Dame de Reims. The highlights are the medieval engravings on the floors and the long, narrow gallery. We were completely alone during our wander around.

Visited that lovely church while on a two night stop over. I actually wanted to see the Cathedral but that was closed. This was after all the better choice. What an impressive build, amazing how did they do it in those days.

We also drove out to the Basilique Notre Dame de l'Epine. Strangely out in a little village and thus easier to park and enjoy. Try and see if you can find all of the 123 gargoyles
Noting available as guide in English although the gift shop may have had one but nothing easy to pick up and quickly inform yourself

Beautiful old building. History. Faith is not composed of brick and mortar that are in the building. Buildings are simply a marker of time and periods. People are the living stones and faith not measured by a structure. That a saint could be judged a heretic in a house of sacred worship

Lovely XII century Gothic cathedral right at the centre of this sleepy Champagne town. There's an interesting museum about the demolished Abbey next door. Claims a UNESCO World Heritage title but in reality it's part of the Camino de Santiago Heritage site which includes several towns across France and Spain.

This beautiful church boasts some wonderful stained glass and is well worth a visit. The outside has some of the original stonework.
