The church, as many of the old gems, is in need of care. The wood working and sculptures are awesome.

We visited both churches in Fougères medieval part, and found the history of this church to be overwhelming. Take a little walk along side the outside wall of the church first, and see the sculptures of the seven sins... greed, avarice. Laziness, etc...first. Then go...More

This is an older church than Eglise Saint Leonard (big church on the hill) and was the first church outside the chateau. It is a nice church but not comparable to many of the incredible cathedrals in France. I highly recommend walking around the outside...More

A very calm and quiet, restful feeling in this wonderfully appointed church. Excellent stained glass windows complement the wonderful ceiling and wall paintings with an very impressive and gold alter area. Well owrth viewing inside.

This church was built for the inhabitants of Fougères. There was a chapel in the 'chateau' but of course this was not for the common people. There is a very nice feeling in this church like you sense the people then put love into building...More

Many French churches feel rather cold and abandoned, especially when they are on a vast scale. Saint-Sulpice is not like that. It still feels like a living place of prayer. The stained glass windows are absolutely enormous but are relatively modern and therefore easy to...More
