So much history and unbelieveable views. There are some restaurants up the top but they are mainly open at night.

THe engineering achievements are phenomenal, to build such a fort is certainly something to admire. The views are beautiful, but maybe after days of traveling Corsica's coasts and mountains we got a bit spoiled..... Besides that there is really nothing special about the citadel.

This is an interesting site but is mostly a structure without a lot of historical info. Combine it with a visit to the port and some time on the stunning beach.

The citadel provides good vistas but not much else going on, especially in April. It's a nice stroll around for an hour or do.

We ported here with Thomson cruises. And Oh my what a beautiful place it was to visit!! Quite steep, uneven walks, so you will need comfortable footwear. But the views are so amazing here and a must see! Lots of historical buildings. People are so friendly. Just an all round stunning place. Nothing bad to say. There is also few... More

Impressive walled old city with nice views from the ramparts and well marked points of interest with a full audio explanation available from the tourist office. Interesting to see the family home of Christopher Columbus is here too from when Corsica was part of the republic of Genoa

Citadelle Calvi is up a steep climb with narrow cobbled paths, take water with you. Lovely views over the beautiful town of Calvi and the port. The beach is clean and scuba diving is very popular here. After the Citadelle we walked uphill to an interesting cemetery with the most beautiful floral tributes near Fort Charley. The information center is... More

Port and town offer lots of interest. We stayed at the L'Abbaye Hotel 3 star hotel. A 3 stop at Calvi is sufficient to experience the place.
