Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

It is a beautiful place with an interesting history!
Freja, a volunteer at the place, showed us around. She was extremely knowledgeable recounting the entire story of the place, the old fox, and his family, answering all our questions in depth. Her engaging manner and passion for the place made it so that we couldn’t help but fall for the fascinating story. We’ll definitely be keeping our ears out for more news about the whereabouts of the old fox’s remains.
After the tour, we were allowed to climb the bell-tower and ring the bell which was great fun as well.
It is without question worth a visit!

Our tour guide got us into the mausoleum and we walked around and went into where the Frasers were entombed. The history is full of sadness and war...and these people from then often didn’t live past 40!

It’s worth taking the time to visit the Wardlaw Mausoleum. Fraser of Lovat history as well as the local area. Interesting architecture and very knowledgeable volunteers. A donation of £3 per person for the upkeep of the building is definitely worth it. But remember the volunteers are not being paid for their time so give them a tip.

An unscheduled stop here was enlightened by being greeted by Erik. He showed us the mausoleum, told great historical stories and gave a great crypt and bell tower tour. Also encouraged me to read Sarah Fraser's book. Maybe the best part of our UK trip due to the personal attention and details.

Very interesting, both the graveyard and the crypt. The climbing of the bell tower was a feat but worth it . Needs TLC but hopefully will get it if more Outlander fans visit.

The Wardlaw Mausoleum was an unexpected find and Freja the young tour guide was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable. Many historically interesting characters from the Fraser family are connected with the Mausoleum and local area. Entering the crypt and seeing the lead coffins was eerie and fascinating. We were also given the opportunity to climb the bell tower and ring the bell which was a new and memorable experience. Although a small attraction it costs nothing to visit and indulge in the local history, ofcourse a generous donation should be considered to help with the upkeep and

A must see for all Outlander fans - this is where Jamie's grandfather, Lord Fraser of Lovat, is buried. We visited this place as a part of the Outlander guided tour.

Absolutely delightful to history lovers of all kinds. Author Sarah Fraser gave an enlightening speech on the history of the Lovett Frasers, especially the Old Fox himself, Simon Lovett. Historical DNA research is ongoing and endlessly interesting.

I visited the Wardlaw Mausoleum with a group from Outlandish UK. We really enjoyed exploring the graveyard, learning of the history of the Kirk, Mausoleum and seeing how it tied in with our favorite television show, Outlander. The overseer and his family delighted us with a very detailed discussion of the history of the area, the people, and the location. We were able to go into the crypt and see where the "Old Fox"', Simon Fraser, is buried (most of him?!). We also got to climb the bell tower and ring the bell. The plaques on the wall were fascinating to read. My grandfather was a Fraser from this area of Inverness-shire, and I still have many aunts and uncles living minutes away from this lovely historical location.

We stopped here with a private guide and didn't really know what to expect, it was the end of the day and we were a bit tired. Our guide got the key and the first amazing thing was that he let me in to the bell tower to ring the bell (just once so not to upset the neighbors too much - see image of steps). It was just the three of us, so I helped to lift the hatch to the actual crypt so we could go inside. It isn't often that one has the opportunity to be so close to historical events and figures in such an intimate space. It is well worth the stop even if only to walk around the graveyard. This was a highlight of our trip.
