    Fun natural wonder
Beautiful wet fun! It’s a great well maintained national park and I’d recommend taking a taxi since many will wait for you. A full guided tour is not necessary, there’s no entrance fee and it’s clearly shown on a map. Going alone means you can set your own pace. My son (age 11), left Chiang Mai at 9am so it wasn’t busy and we were able to crawl up and down the waterfall. It is best done barefoot, take a small water proof bag for your phone and if you want to put your flip flops in. There are storage lockers and clean spacious change rooms. I noticed the locals didn’t get wet at all if that’s your thing but we enjoyed laying down in the rushing water. The rocks are mostly sticky but there’s a few slippery sections and there’s ropes to help you climb so you need to be a little fit. For those who don’t want to climb in the water or can’t use the ropes, there are stairs running next to it. Keep an eye on younger ones since there’s a couple of spots you shouldn’t climb up since it’s too steep and the sign is old and not very clear. We stayed 2 hours and could’ve stayed longer if we brought a picnic.

    Out of this world!
Amazing! One of the neatest places I’ve ever been. Perfect for our 11 & 8 year old. Our 6 year old did require some support but loved scrambling up the rocks. There were younger kids than her there too! Definitely a must-do in the area.

Unexpectedly a lot of fun for every age
We arrived without any expectations by ourselves (rent a scooter) and paid no entry, walked down some stairs and saw these smalls waterfalls. And damn, that was quite a lot of fun! Just be yourself and give your inner child something to play with. Take off your boots, get rid of unnecessary stuff and get ready for some water. You are able to climb these waterfalls with ease and also take some great pictures. At the time we have been there, not as many people were there, but that probably depends on our late arrival by bike. You were able to lay down, enjoy the water flowing over your body or just climb as much as you would like to. And even if you are not as good in climbing, there are some ropes for some more slippery parts to help you. It is approximately one hour away from Chiang Mai (relaxed driving) and I would absolutely recommend this place for a fun afternoon!

THESE falls are also known as the Sticky Waterfalls because the mineral deposits on the rocks make it almost impossible to slip.
That said, I saw at least three people fall or slide and the terrain is pretty unforgiving. We are, after all, talking about water cascading down rocks.
The first thing I liked here were the large number of information boards telling visitors about local wild, bird and insect life.
I traversed the entire falls using the staircase down its right hand side. I wasn't dressed for waterfalls but I was in a prime position to watch what happened to a steady stream of people clad only in shorts or bikinis and either going barefoot or with flip-flops on.
On a very hot day the attraction of water was obvious, but I saw two women skid sideways and nearly come off the falls while others made hasty grabs at ropes placed to help people up difficult bits.
Yes, most people climbed up without too much difficulty, but it was clear that the threat of a fall was always there and you only have to read a few of the reviews attached to see that some people hit trouble.
I think the thing is to enjoy yourself without being too adventurous or foolhardy.
I certainly enjoyed myself and the butterflies almost everywhere I went were a joy to look at.
Don't expect the falls to be some peaceful paradise. They were very busy while I was there, the car park was packed and people were arriving by scooter, motorcycle, taxi and even by the minibus full the whole time I was there.
Just enjoy it in your own way and it will be well worth a visit. Enjoy the experience.

We came because a local told us kids would have fun, but kids should be at least 7 to attempt this. It is extremely steep and slippery at the top. A lady fell hard and tumbled all the way down the top section, crashing into my 4-year old on the way and nearly taking her down too (not her fault of course). My kid was so shaken, and it was so steep and slippery, that she refused to go any further and we had to be rescued by helpful passers by.

Such a beautiful park. The waterfalls are incredible and the butterflies will land on your fingers!
Be careful of the ropes though! They are calcified and can hurt!

Had such a fun day here! The natural waterfalls are beautiful and location is also stunning. Despite the busyness it was still very enjoyable so I would definitely recommend :)

LOVED IT - highly recommend! Went there this morning (family of four with two kids, ages 10 and 14), and had an amazing time. The falls are beautiful and the water kept us cool all morning (though it's still warm water); the kids especially were mesmerized by the sticky rocks and climbed up and down all of the falls a few times. The falls looked steep and a bit intimidating when we first arrived; you go down the first part with a rope, so we walked down the first set by the stairs to get our bearings a bit more. Once we got into the water though, and tried climbing a bit, we realized that these are not your usual rocks, and soon we were climbing up and down with much more confidence. Note: There are some slippery bits where the rocks are dark green, so watch and test and take your time. The kids are still raving about it hours later, and if you have kids like ours who aren't used to the heat and humidity, they will love the time spent staying cool in the clear, beautiful water. The surrounding land is also lovely, with ferns, trees, bamboo, and lots of shade. There are lockers on site if you need to stash your belongings - but the top of the falls are very close to the parking lot, so you don't need to take much down the falls with you. We took one phone for pictures, and left our shoes at a the bottom of the first falls and went barefoot. We are staying at an Air BNB condo, so arranged through their tourist office to have a private driver take us there and back for 1700 baht for the half day. He was super nice and told us about places and things we passed on the way (about 45 min from Chiang Mai). These falls are one of the best outings we've had here - a must see!

Great series of waterfalls amongst a beautiful forest jungle. The calcium deposit on the rocks makes the falls climbable as shoes or bare feet stick to the surface like an insect on the wall. Not too crowded, no fee. Highly recommend if staying in Mai Taeng or Chiang Dao - or even as a day trip from Chiang Mai.

We visited here with our 3 children (age 11,12 and 15). We got a Bolt taxi there and the driver waited there for 4 hours to bring us home again. It only cost 1100 baht. The waterfalls are free to enter and there are places to buy food and drink, toilets, showers and lockets to rent. We had the best day ever. Leave all valuables in the locker and leave your shoes either at the top or in the locker too. You will not be disappointed.
