My wife and I drive through this once every year going between Mackinaw City and Petoskey. It is very beautiful. Not a quick route at all and not a lot of places to stop, but a good way to spend a relaxing hour. Just take it slow. The road is very narrow and winding, and you'll find the occasional cyclist... We took this drive on Saturday, October 22 and are so glad we did! We began our trip at the northern end of the trail and were pleased to find that we had chosen correctly, traffic from the south was quite heavy. The trip can be done in under an hour, but you should take longer and enjoy the many... More

Such fun we had driving through this scenic Lakeshore Drive. We were charmed by the fall colors and the lovely homes. Our first visit to Michigan broadened our love for America "from sea to shining sea." Please take time to be here.

The tunnel of trees is an ideal location to view fall colours , we visited the place just in time . The place has some winery and farm on the way , apart from the scenic route the place has nothing much to offer . This could actually be combined with Mackinaw tours.

During the fall color season this is a great drive. You'll get to see every imaginable colored leaves. The "highway," Michigan M119 (16 miles) is very narrow and very windy and it also runs next to Little Traverse Bay. Be prepared to take your time. The sightseers in the cars in front of you go slow and many times will... More

We did go through the Tunnel of Trees a few years ago and it was out standing. There are several small businesses to see during the trip and we did end up in Harbor Springs. A great place to visit. We did stop for coffee and lunch at a small restaurant ( Can't remember the name) We plan on staying... More

We were heading to St. Ignace from southeast Michigan, and we chose to detour over to the west coast and drive the tunnel of trees. I tried to plan this Michigan trip so that we would hit the fall color change, but it was all green. It was still very peaceful and pretty. The narrow road wasn't too busy, and... More

Gorgeous Fall Drive along the lakeshore and through lots of beautiful trees. The road is a bit narrow - but the drive is worth the time!
