It was a real pleasure to visit the MART, beautifully designed to house contemporary art. The glass cupola entrance is lovely and reminded me slightly of a mini version of the great courtyard at the British Museum. We only saw the current Boccioni exhibition, which was very well curated in themed rooms. We were accompanied by a very knowledgeable young... More

If only we had regional museums as good as this in the UK. Excellent collection of Italian 19/20 century painting and sculpture thoughtfully curated and excellently presented. Beautiful building that suited the collections and allows for an adventure as you explore its many and varied spaces. Will definitely return.

Amazing local collection and visiting artworks, thoughtfully exhibited. Many famous names of the 20th century and more. We had a couple of hours and then visited again there was so much to take in and appreciate. Not too crowded when we visited end of June. Fantastic dedicated building - architecturally interesting - a great space. Entry free with Trentino guest... More

If you are interested in this genre, it's more than decent. Many artists not too familiar to Americans like me.

The building by starchitect Mario Botta is quite stunning, particularly the covered entrance court. The collections inside are divided into three sections: (a) contemporary art, with focus on Italian artists; (b) 20th century Italian art; (c) temporary exhibitions. We found (a) and (b) to be of very high quality, while (c) a video installation about the sad felling of a... More

This museum is awesome. The architecture is already a gift for your eyes! It's good to search for the exhibitions first on the internet site.

The temporary exhibition on WW1 was very varied and well laid out. Nobody is going to like everything of course but the place gives you plenty of space to see the exhibits and the day we went it was very under-populated. Well worth the trip.

MART was a refreshing visit: something so simple and fresh was unexpected in this typical old town below Trento. The layout of the gallery is clear and clean and the building doesn't interfere with the exhibits: In some cases, like the circular internal glazed mezzanine, it enhances them. We visited during the exhibition on WW1 and the works were presented... More

An excellent modern arts museum considering that it's located in a rather small town. I took the audioguide and it was a couple of hours well spent.

MART is a lot bigger and better museum than you would expect in a small town like Rovereto. We visit it a couple times a year to see the changing exhibits. One of the best modern art museums we have found.
