A great walk from town
Sep. 2021
Monte Brione's slope dominates the end of Lake Garda, but it is not until you're at the top that you can really appreciate its stunning location. Perched between Torbole and Riva del Garda, with lovely views across the towns - and sea-like views up the length of Lake Garda. There are obvious well-made paths leading you via disused forts to the top, and some forest paths, and paths amongst the olive trees, to explore, that don't seem as well used. A steep hike up, but well-worth it, for one of a kind views over the surrounding area.

Tiring, but worth it!
Aug. 2021 • Couples
It’s quite a steep way up, but it’s definitely worth the view. It’s a moderate to hard hike, I was quite tired when we reached the top, but the view is breathtaking. I recommend this hike.

Great MTB ride
Nov. 2019
The ride up to the fort on Monte Brione offers a good 20-30min ride with some decent elevation change, and when you reach the fort, you can enjoy a break-taking view of Lake Garda above Torbole-Riva (Monte Brione divides the two towns). A bit further along the asphalt road, on the left you will find the MTB path sentiero 770 which is a single-track on medium difficulty for DH riding, total length of the ride about 3'. We are frequently in Riva for pleasure, and this bike trip on Monte Brione is very good for a 40' training session on the MTB with some downhill bits.

A hill walk from Riva with great views
Sep. 2019
This walk starts from very close to the centre of Riva and you get great views back down the Lake Garda. The walk gets fairly steep straight away but for anyone who is reasonably fit it won't be too hard.
For history buffs at the top there are very well preserved remains of Austrian army barracks from the WWI era when this was very close to the border with Italy. In fact the roof of one of the barracks is an ideal for sunbathing on a sunny day.
You can choose to go back down the way you went up but we chose to go down the other side of the mountain and the path gets a little rough but it's very doable.

Good views.
Sep. 2019
We walked up to Monte Brione starting from Porto San Nicola. A bit of an uphill plod in places but views over Riva and Torbole were great. Called in at Forte Garda for a free visit. Chucked it down with rain half way through the walk so got soaked!

Sweaty but worth it
Jul. 2019 • Couples
About an hour long walk to the top. Not too hard but very hot temperature could bring some challenge to the trip. Really nice scenery all through the trail and the top of the hill is a cherry on the cake. Would recommend to do this early in the morning with less tourists and cooler temperature

A long walk uphill but what views
Jul. 2019 • Couples
We walked up this mountain and a warm day and it offers fantastic views of the lake and surrounding area, wear good shoes and be prepared to feel more like climbing than walking, #once at the top we took the long winding road ( for cars ) back it was easier to come down that way but took longer.

Fantastic views

Walked up Mount Brione on a very warm and sunny morning. It’s not really hard climbing and there are lots of shady spots all the way up to catch your breath and admire the views. Took about an hour to walk all the way to the top and the masts also visited the fort halfway up which was free to enter. Well worth the walk up for the views over the lake, Torbole and Riva Del Garda

Good moderate - short hike with incredible views
Jun. 2018 • Friends
I would recommend this trail to hikers of various skill level. It is approximately 1 hour to the top. There are many cut-ins along the trail allowing for plenty of photo opportunities and various different views of Lake Garda and the vineyards below. You can see where the river flows into the lake and can see the city of Torbole. On the hike up you will hike through some olive groves. It is a very pretty hike.
