Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We were staying in a nearby town and decided to visit, just to go to the "Belly Button" of italy. Apparently its the dead centre. They have a big monument which i'm assuming is meant to represent the belly button. As it has the word umbilicus also written on it. Its a very quiet town. But worth a visit.

The Cathedral in the city square is a don't miss. The river walk was relaxing. The parking was inexpensive and readily available and free on Sunday. We stayed in the area five days and visited the city center twice. It also features a monument to being the center of Italy. Not sure how they calculated that. People were friendly to us and shopping was easy. We were in the area for five days visiting Saint Francis sights in the region. Nice town.

Rieti is a hidden gem. The competition with Rome and its position in the sabine mountains result in few tourists vistiting the place. It is surely off the beaten track for international visitors, which makes it all the more interesting and authentic.

Comes alive at night, when restaurants and bars open and locals undertake their 'passiagere'. Even at lunchtime, restaurants and shops are closed.
