The grotto was swimming distance (if you’re a strong swimmer or have a floating device) from our hotel - Hotel Torre Saracena. We decided to rent kayaks (at the Marina) which was a good choice. Super easy to get to, magical to go into. Make sure you go when the sun is hitting the outside of the entrance to the grotto. Go towards the back and then look out at the entrance and you’ll see the magic! *only cost was the kayaks…

Stumbled and visited this place in an instant without waiting for hours just perfect tide to get in and enjoyed the beauty of the blue colored water of the lagoon.

You can hire a kayak from marina di praia beach to access (go right when facing water), alternatively many of the local boats will take you in if you have chartered the boat. If you are a strong & confident swimmer you can swim to it - I stayed at the Hotel Continental 8 years ago (hotel name has changed now - near Sita & local bus stop) and it had steps down to a private beach which was only about 200 metres from the grotto. The Grotto is near Africana Club. If you have kids get a boat - but when you get there jump in and soak it up. Pack swimming goggles.…

We were catching a water taxi back to Amalfi to our favourite restaurant and our lovely taxi driver gave us a spontaneous tour of the grotto. It was sunset at the time and we were the only ones in there. It was stunning and we will not forget it!
