Delightful and informative 30 minute walk with magnificent views.
Sep. 2019
Delightful 30minute walk with free entrance and leaflet indicating the relevant geological volcanic formations. You need a car or moped to arrive. Local winery next to the entrance offers excellent wine tasting aperitif for €8 with magnificent views. Get there late afternoon to enjoy the approaching sunset. Worth the trip.

Accessible from the bus- but not so easy from coast path
Sep. 2018
The cave is signposted from the road and it is an easy walk past the vineyard on a flat road. Looks like a visitor centre is being built and there is car parking. The bus to Quattropani will stop there just ask.Down from the cave to the Fumarole is a bit rough but the path deteriorates badly and really does need walking boots, eroded by water surface can be quite slippery due to fine particles. It's a long trek downhill following other walkers footprints until the coastal path. Coastal path back to Pianocente is simple walking with great views of Salina and Vulcano (couldn't find the start of this path outside Quattrocento and the restaurant there was closed even though it's website said open at lunch-back tracked to Cave di Caolino). Bar in Pianocento just before the bus route was open at 15:30. Couldn't find a bus stop in spite of asking 3 people but waved at the bus and thankfully it stopped. Must take water for this walk

Casually found this place as it was on the way.. stop there if you can, as it's definitely it. You'll have a brief explanation from the guide (for free) and you can take some nice shots! Nice views too!
