I’m not sure who all these people are who are giving this place such a high rating on TripAdvisor. Yes, the story of this person digging in the floor to replace a sewer pipe and finding archeological ruins is interesting. The museum itself, however, is...More

Other reviewers have described the history of this museum, so I won't recount it here. We really liked this little museum. It is well-organized and has a very good self-guided tour available in many languages. I agree with other visitors---it is underpriced! If each visitor...More

Very good value. Visitors are given guides in various languages - we French, German and English, in addition to Italian. The person on the entry desk is very helpful and informative.. The space is compact, but fits in a large amount. Children seemed to have...More

Certainly not your normal museum - absolutely fascinating and all the more for hearing from Andrea how he, his father and brother discovered and excavated this town house only a view years ago. Well worth a visit whilst in Lecce.

the story behind (more like "under") this location is fascinating. but as a museum it does not deliver. if one is not historically or architecturally inclined the visit can prove to be a non-starter.

For just 3 euros this is an amazing little museum. Much of it consists of simply displaying what existed below the current building, which was only uncovered when the owner decided to dig below the floor to investigate a persistent damp problem. It really brings...More

This is a must visit in Lecce. A small very quirky Museum where the history of Lecce is encapsulated in one house. And it was all found by accident! Great value for €3

Really worth your time. The story behind the discovery of the artifacts is so unique. The entrance fee is low in comparison to other sites and you get quite a quirky experience. They give you a guide in your chosen language and you have fun...More
