Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The center of Ferrara is home to many little treasures like this fantastic square
In order not to miss the details and to enjoy the visit more, we contacted one of the local guides that can be found through the town hall website.
She was discover for us why the the square is famous for, the imposing white marble grand staircase, characterized by a vaulted roof with a central dome and Renaissance-style arches while the marble balustrade has medieval Gothic elements.
Piazza del Municipio is often chosen as the farmer's market with fresh and processed typical products of the province of Ferrara, we had the opportunity to enjoy it the day of our visit
The entrance to the Sala Estense also overlooks the square, today used as a theater while it once represented the facade of the chapel of Santa Maria di Corte.

This beautiful little square is full of charm, good atmosphere, beautiful covered staircase and nice palace facade. Access to this place means making a pleasant discovery. With a beautiful and rich history. Piazza Municipale was once the former court of honour of the Ducal Palace that is dominated by the magnificent Scalone d’Onore (stairway of honour) built by Pietro Benvenuto degli Ordini. These steps blend the Gothic Medieval elements like the Venetian style marble banisters with other obviously Renaissance style elements like the arches and the dome. The wing alongside the stairway presents elegant marble windows that denote the position of the living quarters of many Duchesses from the past and the most famous of whom was no doubt Lucrezia Borgia. We have now witnessed a cheese fair that Ferrara is well known for.

Everywhere is so pleasant. People here are so friendly and we didn't feel like they only wanted our money. In fact we felt like they were going on with their lives and we wee watching. It was so great to be a pat of it all.
There are many areas that have nothing special to see but are fun to be a part of.

We were lucky enough to be here in the evening when the "Locals" were practising for their "flag waving" competition. What an atmosphere!!! and so Italian!
Lots of colourful flags.

The square takes the name of the building of the same name located there and is quite small. It is the classic place that is observed as an addition to the main places. Commercial activities present.
