We stayed in Chiavari on a managed tour so had the opportunity to walk around a few days and nights. After 8 pm all shops are closed. There are wonderful old buildings which are now shops which must be for locals but some are quality products. There are many different streets and I doubt you could see it all in... More

I only discovered Chiavari and it's historical center three years ago. Boy what I was missing! The porticoes and nice shops...the daily fruit and vegetable market and the bi-monthly antique market make a very nice visit. There are several good restaurants and cute bars...such as Vinoria and Bar Nazionale. Classic restaurants are Da Vittorio and Luchin ( charming atmosphere). I... More

Worth a walk round. Lots of little shops and cafes in little arcades. You can feel the history about it.

We visited Chiavari by chance and what a charming town it turned out to be, the centro storico had some charming historical buildings and it felt very bright and clean, there was and antique market in the town which was brilliant and it is only a short walk to the sea.

Very beautiful area with local shops and cafes. Nice little roads all around the center . I would recommend taking a piece of focaccia and simply take a look in the nearby.

A very intriguing old city center, made of historic building and monuments and a lot nice little covered alleys, with a lot of shops, nice bakeries, a colourful fresh vegetable market . Worth a stay to visit it properly.

If your looking for a great selection of shops where you can walk up and down in any weather, you must come to Chiavari. I consider it one of the best open air shopping centres. From boutiques to bars to what ever you wish to buy.

A few steps away from the beach and the marina, historical shops, and very good food. I had a wonderful Darjeeling tea at Don Tea Time, and spectacular traditional food at Osteria Luchin (a restaurant that has been with the same ownership since 1906, and never changed the menu!). This is a truly hidden gem.

The historical city center is a perfect spot, even during rainy days though the arcades cover, most of the "shopping district". A various amount of cafés and restaurants also fullfills the feeling, that her you'll have everything you need.
