We are a group of five companions who regularly visit the battlefields of WWII, typically with a tour guide. We reached out to Danila after reading about her on the Internet. During a full day, she guided us around the battlefield(s) of Monte Cassino significantly adding to our knowledge. She did so with genuine enthusiasm and a great sense of... More

We found Danila on the Web after another tour had cancelled, and boy were we lucky. We had spent significant time researching the Allies battle to Rome, and we spent 6 days with Danila following the US Fifth Army route from Paestum/Salerno through Cassino and to Anzio/Nettuno and Rome. Danila is an expert on this aspect of WWII history, having... More

A beautiful and amazing place we stayed in the town of cassino there are some lovely restaurants in the town. We went to the the monastery which is breathtaking and the views are to die for. We also went to the commonwealth graves to pay our respect

Danila knows her stuff. She showed us around the battlefield in a smart Mercedes minivan, complete with a video screen to show us footage of the fighting and explain the background to the campaign in northern Italy. We started at the Italian cemetery and museum, took in the crossing of the Rapido River before stopping for an excellent lunch (all... More

We have been touring with Danila for 4 years and every trip we experience another place and area that makes us wonder why people even bother going to Tuscany and the north. She has a depth of information on the war, Rome and many areas in the Frosinone region that we would have never thought to visit. We will hope... More

The tour of Montecassino by Danila Bracaglia was nothing short of stupendous! It truly exceeded all our expectations and we were so impressed with her knowledge of history and the events surrounding that horrific battle. It was very informative and so moving and at one point brought us to tears. The photographs and video added to the experience as well.Truly... More

My husbands father served in WWII and as others have noted, he rarely spoke about his time in Italy. Directly out of med school, he traveled to North Africa and onto Sicily. From there the family history was sketchy and so we decided to visit Anzio. Danila fit us in at the very last minute as our original tour plans... More

My husband and I took the tour with Danila and it was everything we hoped for. She had another couple on our tour, the woman was the daughter of a veteran who had served there during WWII which made it more interesting. She is very knowledgeable as well as a fun guide. Everything was perfect the monastery was beautiful and... More

Did the hour walk to the Obelisk with teenagers and the dog. It was late afternoon so quite cool in the shade of the trees. It was beautiful at the top, the views very impressive. You need sensible walking shoes and water as it is a steep little road to walk which brings out the glow in your cheeks. We... More

My brother Roland and I came to Italy to research our parents' wartime experiences: our father - as an officer in 2nd Polish Army Corp and our mother - an Italian performing artist and screen actress in Rome. We booked Dr Danila Bracaglia for the Cassino leg of our tour and she was excellent! Danila was a bubbly, enthusiastic and... More
