each room was breath taking, the gardens were stunning, prepare yourselves for a long walk up the garden, about an hour and a half for a slow stroll, 45 minute walk back. get there early to try and avoid the hordes of screaming school kids...More

Very impressive scale and design but a big ripoff. Not really value for money. Pay for a 2 day pass 15E to see both Palace and grounds, as it is so huge you need the time to really appreciate it. On top is the bus...More

Larger than the Versailles palace: 1200 rooms, over 1750 windows, extremely accessible (unlike Versailles) and only 12 euros per person! What's wrong with these people? It's 30 km from Naples and a short train ride away from Rome. Should be prominently listed in all Italy...More

I have been here on Tuesday, it was a national holiday in Italy and the place was packed. The queue was very long, but there was a second entrance with less people, and we did only one hour's queue. I'd suggest to pay the ticket...More

It is one of the wonderful cultural and human heritages of Italy! Good to visit in a sunny day and have a walk in the gardens and admire the different 'Fontane'! Only one thing let leave with sadness: the lack of maintenance of the structure!

Found this "palace" to be very interesting. Firstly easily accessible via an underground car park in the centre of town. The architecture was worth studying as well as the gardens, if you are a fan of Versailles it's a must see. Also a great place...More

The architecture alone worth a visit -- marble stairways with sculptures, vaulted ceilings and huge light-filled windows, paintings and sculptures abounding, - all make for a unique experience. The approach to the castle from underground parking demands stairs (escalators were not working) and a lengthy...More

The site is very impressive. The tour in the palace is long but rich and interesting. The best attraction for us were the gardens outside. You can take a bus, a carriage with horses or bicycle. The tour in the endless gardens is lovely and...More

Is it easy to buy a ticket at the Caserta train station? I'm thinking of just buying a one way ticket and then when we are ready buying our return ticket to Naples. Does that work?

you can easily buy a ticket at Caserta railway station. but you can also buy a return ticket. you do not need to fix the return time. you just need to mark the ticket before boarding the train at the machines (you get a... More

You have to go via Naples! If you find an excursion going directly, make sure that you have enough time for the park which can take 2 hrs. PLUS 1 hr. for the palace. If you do a private arrangement make sure you go up to... More
