The Schloss is worth visiting for the medieval architecture---the museum itself is a hodgepodge of artifacts collected by Reinhold Messner on his world-wide journey to the worlds highest peaks, and as another visitor described ,"the worlds largest flea markets."--Alas, the museum does offer some useful...More

MMM is a great place for mountain lovers. This museum is dedicated to mountain inhabitants customs and traditions. There are 3 floors dedicated to the different continents, in my opinion (personal preference) the best parts are the ones dedicated to Asia (Nepal, India...). The location...More

The castle where the museum is located is amazing. The museum collection is so various and absolutely interesting. The only negative point is the darkness in some rooms that do not allow to see anything!

Be prepared to walk up a hill to get to the castle and climb to the tower for the best views. Interesting insight into various mountain cultures, not as much about mountain climbing as one might expect. Worth a visit.
