Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Bardolino looks appealing, however the reality is not shining. Beachside are dirty and smell. Food in all places are old and you will find fingerprints in your plate. If you traveling with the pet, be sure bring your bowl otherwise you will wait eternity.

Stayed 30 years ago and loved it. Went back on day trip 2924 and compared to Riva or Salo was frankly disappointed. It had sold its soul to tourism and lost much of its character. Possibly worth a daytrip with Sirmoine by boat, but I wouldn’t now recommend as a base.

As promenades go it's not the widest or well kept. In parts it is gravelly and with all the bikes going by can be a little treacherous in parts, but for a place to walk along and see the beautiful surroundings of Lake Garda it is a great place to be. To my knowledge it stretches all the way around the lake. It most certainly runs almost unbroken from Lazise to Garda and beyond, and for most of that time you are well within range to pick the wife up and lob 'er in the lake if the whim takes you! As a way of getting from village to village it is excellent, well furnished with cafe stops and places to while the afternoon away under a shady tree. In the evening the views across the lake are fabulous and the atmosphere on the boardwalk is more than pleasant. As I am from Blackpool I am used to a broad unbroken promenade. This has most of the benefits, but without the stag nights. A very civilised place indeed. Result!

We arrived in Bardolino late in the evening, just as the sun was setting over the lake. It was spectacular! Unfortunately my camera was still packed and in the week we were there, no other sunset compared to our first. Given the right weather conditions, a stroll around the lake in the evening is most enjoyable but worthwhile at any time of the day. The flowers are very colorful and there is an abundance of seats if you want to rest and take in the view. We walked the lake front every day we were there and never tired of the experience.

We were in Bardolino after the majority of the tourist season had ended and there wasn't much going on along the front as we in the UK would call it. However, at all the times of day we took the time for a stroll we were struck by the wonderful views across the lake, and the care that had been taken over the cleanliness and attractiveness of the town itself.
Such a beautiful place!

Bardolino is just beautiful and the Lungolago walk is the best on the lake. We noticed the new flower beds and seating along the lakeside this year and the boardwalk is just lovely. It’s always the perfect place for the passeggiata day or night, very safe even late at night

A walk along the lakeside at Bardolino is a delight. The pathway to Lazise via Cisano is full of life with boats moored at the side, bathing spots along the way and cafes every ten mins or so to refresh and rest. Take your time to soak up the atmosphere and experience the Italian lakeside at its best. Both Lazise and Cisano are worth visiting with the castle at Lazise of particular interest.

We visited the Punta Hexagonum for lunch and it was not a great experience. The service was pretty poor, as the waitress was quite rude when we asked what ingredients they used in one of the dishes, she seemed annoyed we asked. The food was not good, the Parmigiana was old and covered in oil, although we were told it was freshly made on the day. We ordered a pizza but they brought a bruschetta instead, so they had to take it back and when the pizza arrived, it was half burned and it had the same ingredient that were in the bruschetta, just moved over from one dish to the other (i am sure about this as I found the carrots that were in the bruschetta and that were not supposed to be in the pizza!) Near our table there was one of the owner that at some point started to shout at some people outside the restaurant, which we later found out it was talking to them. The place it pretty pricey for what it offer, there are many more restaurants nearby, avoid this one, it's not worth it.

Visited Bardolino after ten years, the wolkway along the lake has been restored in an extremely nice and romantic way, with benches, flowers, bridge and nice light. But most lights under the wooden walkway are off or burned.. not a nice result from the lake.

It is possibe to use the public boat between the three villages Garda, Bardolino and Lazise, but walking or biking along the Lungolago pathway (about 4 km between each center), is a great way to stay fit during your holiday.

We are going to stay in Bardolino for a week in June. There seems to be lots to do around the lake. Would you recommend staying local or travelling to nearby places, and if yes, which places do you recommend on such a short stay.? Rutti

Although Bardolino is one of the nicest places around Lake garda, I would defenitely recommend you to visit nearby places as well.
Garda and Lazise are only a few km from Bardolino (15 min. by public bus). Sirmione is lovely (by boat).
There are also organised tours to Verona and Venice. But you can also take the public bus to Peschiera del Garda and take the train from there.

Lungolago di Bardolino /Garda passeggiata molto bella, rilassante, ci sono panchine dove poter ammirare un fantastico panorama, peccato non vengano rispettate certe regole, molti padroni, lasciano i propri cani senza guinzaglio, creando qualche disagio... magari ci fosse un pò piú di controllo...
