Built about 4500 years ago, this collective burial chamber is very long, with a series of uprights that were once covered with stones and earth.

A very unusual tomb compared to those around the rest of Sardinia. During our two weeks on Sardinia we visited several tombs and ruins around the island and this was certainly different and therefore worthy of a visit. It is possible on this site to...More

Dates back to around 4500years ago. It is a long collective tomb with the oldest burials at the back coming forward toward the entrance. Little information on site so a guide is an added bonus.

Coddu Vecchiu is a Giants' grave located near the Nuraghe La Prisgiona. While the name ‘Tomb of Giants’ (or Giants’ Grave) invokes images of the burial of giant human beings, the tombs actually have nothing to do with the burial of anyone other than regular...More

Generally this could be interesting if some more information would be available. Generally there are just stones put in a certain order. The information is half page in English and Italian only.

It's never been a giant's tomb, but it was a neolithic ostiary/funerary site. Very easy to visit - just a nice walk from the adjacent park offices (w restrooms and nice parking site). Descriptive signage is fairly faded, but Coddu Vecchio still amazes The tomb...More

Site is really well preserved and easy to access. Although it really only takes a few seconds to see the tomb (it is after all, just a well maintained 3200 year old mass grave), I like to try and think of everything that has changed...More
