After seeing Vasari's name pop up in almost every site we visited in Florence (usually him commenting the very building or art in front of us), we were delighted to discover at the ticket office for the San Francesco basilica in Arezzo that Vasari's house...More

This smallish but exquisite palazzo was decorated by Vasari himself. It won't take you too long to visit but each room is fascinating and beautiful. Get the combination ticket for this, the archaeological museum, and the San Francesco church and you have an amazing day...More

I became interested in Vasari since I moved to Arezzo and his home is a wonderful example of his art and life. Such beautiful frescoes and art in each room. There is no furniture which is a shame but the house and garden are really...More

It realy feels like somebody's home. A lot of frescos to be seen from vasari and his contemporaries. It could be a bit more developped, vasari is after all a very important artist in history. Not much is mentioned about his written works.

I did not care much for Vasari's frescoes in the Duomo in Florence. But his house shows a very different side. Every room in the modestly sized house (first floor) is painted with beautiful figures, fascinating range of narratives and scenes, so many different moods....More
