About
We’ve always been here, on the Chianti slopes of Arezzo, in the land of Tuscany, at Villa La Ripa, a Renaissance villa not far from Florence and Sienna. Olive groves and vineyards all around us with their precious oil and wine: Sangiovese, Tiratari, Psyco, Spaziolibero.Rows and rows of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Shiraz are well cared for with love and passion with respect for nature and environmental sustainability. The countryside is unique as it has remained unaltered for ages and deserves to be discovered, enjoyed and… tasted. It is recommended to all the lovers of wine tourism for unforgettable visits at the winery.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The owner, Dr Luzzi, was so kind to give me a tour of his beautiful villa. He highlighted the art, history and architecture of the villa which dates back to the year 1000. The wine was spectacular and I was easily able to purchase a case for very reasonable price and ship to the USA. Highly recommended!

9 of us went to visit on our excursion day, a break from our cooking course in Poppi. The villa is very impressive as are the wines. The owner was charming, knowledgeable and personable. I shipped a case home to remind myself of this lovely experience.

A lovely vineyard with beautiful views. We visited with a group as part of our tour. Coach took us down a tiny road and the electric gates to the vineyard failed to open! The gates opened after about a 15 min wait but it made the visit more memorable! The wines were gorgeous and the couple who introduced us to them were lovely, informative and had a good sense of humour. Would recommend a visit here as a lovely couple of hours in a beautiful setting.

During a cooking vacation in Tuscany we visited this winery. The owner joined us for the tour and tasting and made the visit special by relating stories on the history, recovery of the old vines and how he had acquired and restored the place. Delicious wines, well worth sending a case home.

It was a sheer pleasure to sped the morning at the beautiful 15 century Villa La Ripa owned the Luzzi family. The tour of the villa was very interesting, The wines were fabulous ( some won gold and silver medals in national and international competitions). Olive oil was also of top quality and very tasty.
A must visit when in Via del vino in Tuscany.

We have enjoyed many wine tastings, both within the US and in Europe, and this was one of the best! Sylvia was so genuine and knowledgeable. We also set the owner (who stopped by to check on us). This wine is an excellent buy at a fraction of the cost of other wineries in Tuscany. The villa is stunning and has such history. Beautiful wines and a great experience!

Lovely vineyard in beautiful countryside for our group of 20. Wine tasting was perfectly choreographed and paired with tastings. A lovely afternoon in Arezzo....favorites among many were the refreshing Rose and Psycho -- a delicious medium/full bodied red.

Saverio is a incredible winemaker and Physician! His wines are incredible from his 1st red, Psyco, to his newer white,Nimaste, they are all delicious! The tasting area is filled with culture and so family friendly. This is my 3rd trip to this winery and I am also a member of his wine club. They also ship to the States. We also purchased their facial creams and tins of olive oil ...a tribute to the Tuscan region as it contains a hint of peppery finish. Grazie Mille, Saverio!

I can’t think of a nicer way to spend a morning or afternoon than at Villa La Ripa. The first thing you admire is the beautiful drive up to this stunning renaissance villa. The setting is gorgeous. We opted to do the wine, olive oil, and cheese tasting coupled with a tour of the house. Our guide was delightful; informative, friendly, and generous with her time. Thank you Franziska, we really enjoyed your company. The wines were delicious, my favourite was the Spaziolibero- a great rose wine. It was lovely to meet the owner too, Doctor Luzzi, a charming man who is deservedly so very proud of his wines, and very happy to share his beautiful home with you. We highly recommend.

Thanks for your nice review! Our aim is always to give a top tasting and a top visit of the Villa. The tourists do not have many occasions to enter a real Tuscan Villa and to meet a real Tuscan family! I am so pleased you were able to get such an experience and you were amazed! Hoping to see you again, Ciao

We visited Villa La Ripa as part of our excursion with our fellow Tuscookany students. All I can say is "wow!" This was truly the highlight of our trip to Tuscany. First we were given an in depth tour of this amazing property. Then the owner Doctor Luzzi joined us for a tasting of their amazing wines. However calling this a "tasting" really does not do it justice. It was much more of an experience. Besides sharing exquisite wines paired with outstanding cheeses, he took time to really explain what goes into their production. If you find yourself near Arezzo do yourself a favor and visit this beautiful place.
