About
Located inside the Valley of the Temples, Kolymbethra Garden is a shaded corner of paradise, where centuries-old olive trees prosper and where the citrus fruits flood the Valley of the Temples with their fragrances. An exceptional garden, where nature is merged with history.

You can only get into the gardens - additional fee - if you buy a ticket for the temples site first of all. It’s worth looking at. It is basically a citrus tree orchard is a narrow valley. We visited as the orange blossom started to appear - a good time of year.

A lush garden in the heart of the temple valley. You can find olive trees, orange trees, lemon trees, mulberry trees, almond trees... In summer they do concerts if you visit the valley of the temples at sunset. The visit is worth 7€ (5€ if Shopping combined with the visit to the valley. Carved into calcarenite walls. You can take a guided tour of the hypogeus by buying admission at the ticket offices

Except for the friendliness of the barman, the friendliness of the cashier and the beauty of the site which deserves to have become a FAI Heritage,
the price does not correspond to the service and activities offered to the visitor.
We went to participate in the "Musical Routes of the Mediterranean" event. €7 to see a NON-show: apart from the interludes which could have been interesting food for thought, the music was not live but recorded by a computer on a table, the station of the author. The spectators sat in the dark and if we wanted to consume they had to move.
€8 for a cocktail, regardless of whether it was the typical one of the place, served in a plastic glass. Together with the cocktail, a bag with three pieces of pizza. There was also supposed to be some focaccia with mortadella (but we paid as if we had eaten it).
Finally, it is impossible to use the bathrooms because they are both broken! As a "generous" concession, I used one without light and flush water.
It's a shame, because the location is worth it. It should be enhanced better, working hard on the organization and management of events.

Collection of different citrus species, as well as olive trees, mulberries and crops. Unfortunately hardly labelled and not very varied. But 7€ admission is relatively high. For this purpose, a combination ticket consisting of the Valley of the Temples and the Garden is advertised on the Internet, which is not available on site.

Giardino della Kolymbethra is a garden located in Temples Valley, in the surroundings of Agrigento, in Sicily Island. It is a very nice garden, which you can visit if you enter the Temples Valley. It is necessary to buy another ticket to go here, but it is very nice. You can walk and relax and see a lot of different plants and a very very very nice view of the remains of a temple located on the other side. However, you can see it, if you go to a high position, in a little mountain. Very beautiful. Also, if you walk about 15-20minutes, you can arrive to the remains of the temple of Vulcano. Also very nice.

Magnificent and charming place. I met him years ago but now he has had a transformation for the better in the care of the trees, different varieties of citrus trees and other native vegetation. Maintenance of roads and bridges. It's totally worth it. A haven of peace and good temperature in the Valley of the Temples. Totally recommended

Another must experience. An ancient reservoir created in the 5th century BC as part of an irrigation system made up of 75 km of of tunnels which is now a garden composed of lemon, almond, grapefruit trees and olive trees. Also, zucchini, tomato, rosemary an so much more.
NB have EasyWay Tour cater a lunch for you in the garden.

The gardens are inside the valley and apparently you can only enter it with a joint valley + garden ticket for 13 Euro (garden itself is 3 Euro).
We went in the evening to tour the Valley of the Temples. The gardens were closed and their staff told us to come back the next morning, explain that we couldn't see the gardens and only buy tickets for the gardens. Sadly this was not correct as the staff at the valley of temples refused to let us in the next day. Also the staff from the garden at the ticket counter (another person) refused to help us explain the situation.
Due to this misinformation, we lost valuable time and money driving to the valley and paying for the parking. We were really disappointed at not being able to see the Gardens but refused to pay again for the valley in order to see just the gardens.

The garden is just besides the site of the Temples, and actually among other functions, it provides a pathway to one of them (temple of Vulcano). It was a garden even in the times of the Temples themselves, when they were built ... so nicely brought back to life. It is situated in one of the valleys that make up the "Valley(s) of the Temples". It has lots of trees: lemon, orange and many other kinds, which throughout the centuries were brought to Sicily from various parts of the world: Middle East, India, China, Japan. Many of the lemon and orange trees are not even planted in our days anymore, so it has a historical role in keeping this history "alive". The garden is of medium size, and one could spend hours there ... luckily, there are lots of benches where one could take many breaks, lots of shade, so a nice experience. The entry ticket is not cheap (I was told that it helps with the ongoing maintenance), but it is still worth a visit.

This was a great find once we actually found it. We came back our second day to see if we could find it, and sure enough it was hiding in plain site. It's 4 euro each to get in, but well worth it to help maintain this nice garden. You get to see all kinds of citrus, pistachio, almond, olive trees and unlike most of Sicily, it's all clearly labeled and in English too! so here is the tip for where you can find it! the other tips of where it is on tripadvisor are incorrect. If you are looking at the temple of Discordia, the garden entrance is to your right. It's the temple with the 3 columns and the cap across the top if you don't remember this name. It's also at the "lower" end of path that takes you up the hill to the other temples. I hope you go, it was a great reprieve from the hot path along the temples. Bring water with you and wear shoes with traction.

È possibile pagare il biglietto per visitare solo il Giardino della Kolimbetra o bisogna necessariamente acquistare il biglietto cumulativo per visitare la Valle dei Templi ed il giardino? Grazie.
Written 11 May 2019

Grazie mille
