Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We have been to quite a number of different kids birthday parties and we do find Canberra Reptile Zoo is one of the best venues for kids birthday (and adults also find it educational and entertaining)
The whole communication and planning of the party was very easy with Peter (owner) and the staff. The reptile show is fun and educational for kids and accompanying adults and kids loved it and couldn't stop talking about it afterwards. The playground is a wonderful space for kids to exhaust themselves. Peter recommended Cafe Injoy to cater for the party and it's convenient and value for money. Peter also looked after the accompanying adults with coffee and drinks. There are plenty to see in the zoo after the party.
We and the kids (and also all the guests) absolutely had a wonderful time

This is honestly one of the best zoo/aquariums I've ever been to. The staff are absolutely fantastic, and really make the zoo what it is. They were really happy to chat about any of the reptiles (and other exhibits) and you could tell how much every one of them cared. It's a place that is full of heart. The interactive parts of the zoo were unexpected, but very much enjoyed! We can't wait to come back one day, and are especially looking forward to seeing the new crocodile enclosure :)

The range of animals is quite extensive, but some of the enclosures are quite small or overcrowded for the type or amount of animals. They mention that they are fundraising to give the saltwater crocodile a new enclosure (the current one is an indoor room about the size of a bathroom), it seems though that they have taken on a creature that they clearly don’t have the facilities for and are relying on visitors and the community to fix this. The turtles also seem quite crowded.

My 8yo 'researched' an activity to do today and we let him take the lead which got us here. It was like stepping back in time to someone's personal collection of reptiles that got out of control and definitely pre animal rights times. Too many animals in small spaces including a salt water croc in the space of a large cupboard. I'm surprised the place is allowed to continue operating to be honest.

Fantastic place. Pete and his staff are great. We went today at about 4pm when rain ruined other plans. Our 2 year old was very nervous and tentative, there was an amazing woman who was so patient with her and explained the different reptiles and got different lizards out time after time to see if she would touch them as well as the turtles and Pepper the small croc. At that time of day we were able to walk back forth from the birds back to Charlie the crocodile. So happy with our first visit to the zoo.

Amazing time with really friendly and informative guides who let you get up close and possibly touch some of the reptiles they have (of course, it is better with a professional supervising regardless of the species). Though small, they house a variety of reptile species, some rescued as well.
The zoo is small and also serves as a shop that sells baby turtles and axolotls but still a must-visit!

I really enjoyed this...a very small reptile zoo fitted into a building that they make work....It is a super close encounter with the reptiles & many are available for you to touch, whilst they are still in their exhibits or they are providing talks & you are allowed to touch them. It was very homely & they had many areas including a bbq area, party area and outside area. I would happily go again. $16 to get in which I thought very reasonable.

We visited during COVID so we had to book. We had the opportunity to touch blue tongue lizards, turtles and a snake. We saw the snake being fed too. They also have some pretty birds and one particular bird who loves entertaining the visitors. Definitely a great place to visit.

You can tell by the enclosures the animals are looked after, but the building is a wreck. They are in serious need of an upgrade, If this is a family business, id say they are stuggling.
The range of reptiles are amazing. They even have a salt water croc!
Outside play area is in need of an upgrade too, but it is clean and tidy.
Kids are able to pet lizzards and turtles so they hands on thing is great for them
