My husband and I were out walking and were following the public footpath towards the Cuckoo Trail in Horam. We came across this lovely vineyard with tasting room overlooking the beautiful countryside. We had to stop! Not only were the owners very welcoming and happy to explain the different wines - but offered us a taste of their latest white wine, Vines Cross, which was so nice we sat on their terrace and drank a glass or two before taking some home for later! The vineyard is under new ownership and Chris and David certainly have some wonderful plans - I would watch this space! The tasting room/shop is open Saturday and Sunday 1pm-7pm.
We will certainly be returning!
If you are in Horam look this place up. There is parking on site and I can think of a lot worse things to do than sit and drink good wine overlooking the vineyard!

I visited here this week. This was an amazing experience with two fantastic hosts.

Chris and David are most certainly natural ‘people people’ ; and delight to discuss stories and their wine making process.

Hidden Spring is in a beautiful setting; and the wine is delightful. I would most certainly love to visit again; and will definitely be ordering the wine for home consumption.

The only small issue is the wine is ‘too nice’ ; a taxi is recommended!

I came to try the wine which was excellent. In the pleasant new tasting room, the owners were friendly and helpful, explaining how they had started, where they had got to and what their future plans are. I look forward to making at least an annual visit to see their progress.

The toilets could have been cleaner. I always judge a food and beverage establishment by the state of the toilets. The toilet floor looked like it had not been cleaned in a while. The bin was overflowing and someone who visited a day after said it was in the same state. Bins had not been emptied which shows the toilets are not regularly cleaned. It was not busy to justify as being recent. Especially with some Covid restrictions still in place one would expect toilets to be spotless and cleaned regularly. This shows attention to detail no doubt, nice wine but the little details have obviously not been looked after. Could be the one day, but someone who went afterwards noted the same about the toilets.
The proprietor seemed friendly.
Tasting area was nice and in a lovely spot.
Lovely day out.

Hi. Thanks for the review, although I'm obviously disappointed to hear the facilities weren't at their best when you visited. I don't know on which day you visited, but it would have been nice to have been told about any issues immediately rather than hearing about this in a review some time later. The toilets are inspected and cleaned regularly, there's always ample handwash, sanitiser and hand towels in all the toilets. We will continue to review our cleaning schedule and respond to any particular issues as we become aware of them. We hope to see you hear again soon.

Well, we made the cross county journey to Hidden Spring on our new scooter to treat ourselves to some different wines. Despite it being midday on Wednesday, they were closed and not a soul around. We tried the doorbell but had no luck there either. If you're planning a visit I'd ring ahead to avoid what we went through. Us, we sticking with Chapel Down.

What a find. We've just returned from a very pleasant afternoon sampling some fine English wine at Hidden Springs. The setting is devine, particularly on a sunny afternoon. After a warm welcome from the hosts we were explained all about the wines on offer and enjoyed a free tasting before buying a bottle a settling in on the veranda, overlooking the vines.

Our two year old was also made very welcome and she enjoyed playing on the grass outside the tasting room. Needless to say one bottle wasn't enough so we bought an extra to take away!

Couldn't think of a nicer way to spend an afternoon. If you enjoy wine and you're nearby, go. If you're not nearby, go anyway. You won't regret it.

Thank you. We'll be back!

Visited as part of a group tour. Really lovely setting. Lots of info about vines and wine making. Plus the opportunity to try some fabulous wine. Thank you for a really good visit. Can recommend a visit and buy some wine from here if you get the opportunity. Enjoy!

This was our first visit to an English winery and our first tasting of English still wines so naturally were very excited to see and try them. The winery is located in a beautiful countryside town and/or is also just 15 minutes away from the train station. Upon arrival, you see the vineyards and cute tasting room. Chris and David, owners, meet you and take you on a tour and taste you through their wines. The three still wines they are serving are stunning, well structured, aromatic wines that you can drink now, pair with food or age. They also pour some of their neighbors’ sparkling wines, all of which are also brilliant . The winery, vineyard, tasting room and owners are top notch and a must visit. You will not be disappointed.

This little vineyard is a great little find. It hasn't been open that long really (two years).
We had a tour and wine tasting and found it really interesting and learnt quite a lot. The two guys who own the vineyard were very informative and answered all our questions. The wine tasting itself was really good. We tasted four of the wines and then ended up buying some which was really good and also got a bit of discount off of them. I would recommend a visit.

We enjoyed a lovely tasting at Hidden Spring Vineyard towards the end of last month. There's a pretty tasting room in amongst acres of vines with stunning views across the Wealden countryside. A smashing place to enjoy a glass, enjoy sampling English wine but with none of the heavy pressure you get from some vineyards. Although I went with my husband I would feel comfortable meeting a friend here for an evening drink. The approach is gorgeous and the welcome is genuine, without being overbearing. A great way to introduce yourself to wines grown within a radius of a few miles, and find out just how far English wine has progressed. It really can hold its own on the international stage now.
