With not much to do one morning, we decided to go to the Bait Al Zubair museum. The drive there past the Muttrah Corniche is delightful. It's small in size compared to most museums and can be done in an hour. Main focus of the exhibits was on costumes, weapons and jewelery. Since it was my first time in an... More

Therefore I chose to visit Bait al Zubair which was a choice from a few travel guides, and clearly his was a great museum! It simply explains the cultural differences between the regions of the sultanate and also has a great collection... More

This museum has exhibitions of Omani dress of the different regions as well as ceremonial daggers, weaponry etc. Very interesting. There are art galleries (unfortunately one of them was closed when we visited) and outdoor displays of village life. There are also stamp, coin and document collections. A very interesting and worthwhile way of spending a couple of hours in... More

A wonderful display of Omani culture and wonderful display of traditional clothing jewelry and weaponry. Wonderful coffee shop at the facilities and a great gift shop. The modern painted Oryx's that line the outside of the museum were beautiful as well. Well worth the visit.

However, the differing clothing worn by differing tribes throughout Oman, is probably a little lost on most visitors -too many, and repetitive. Worth stopping by though. You can do it probably I. 30... More

I visited this museum last week, It is a private collection about history, clothes, music instruments in Oman, It is very nice if you have someone who can explain about different things that you see there, if you are in the city is a good place to spend an 1 hour.
