The Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque is well worth visiting. The gardens set the mood of spirituality as does the entire setting. At every turn the plants and flowers seem to frame and highlight the architecture of the mosque. Once inside you can't help but be in awe of the carpet, the second largest carpet in the world. Aside from its... More

Very beautiful place to see in Muscat. Loved the possibility to meet and speak with the locals and see the inside of this great mosque.

We visited the Mosque in Muscat as part of our city tour with Sunshine Tours. Our guide Suliaman entered the Mosque with us and gave us a guided tour. I recommend a private tour such as this as obviously it is much more personal and relaxed, much more time to ask questions and understand the Mosque . It is a... More

Interesting visit although don't really get to see much. It is very pretty and you can go into the entrance bit before the mosque. Ladies have to cover up from head to toe and men have to dress modestly (didn't seem like an issue). They have spare garments for ladies if you don't pass the entrance. It's free.

The grand Mosque is a great piece of architecture in addition to its valuable importance for Muslims. It has shining and amazing marble in all of its surrounding area. The view from inside is magnificent. If you think to visit it here are few points to consider. It will be very respectful if you wear head scarf (for woman) ,... More

This is a must if you visit Muscat. This vast place of worship welcomed tourists in the morning. Full access was available. A strict dress code was applied. An excellent place to get you first experience of Islam.

Apparently the mosque contains the largest carpet in the world and the chandelier is some sight too. Altogether a visit is not to be missed.

An impressive hall player with probable one of the largest rug and an amazing glass chandelier. But the best experience is walking alone among the marble archs and corridor, you can feel the spirituality of the place.
