Organise your trip to ensure you see this mosque! Closed to visitors on a Friday this mosque is worth a visit. Allow at least an hour and make sure you visit the Islamic Information Centre on the grounds of the mosque for free books, drinks and dates at the end of your tour. Staffed by very open minded volunteers I... More

Gorgeous place. Worth the visit for sure. If you're there early, you miss the big crowds. Women, be sure you're adequately covered up, or you may need to rent an outfit outside the gate. The mosque is all that the guidebooks say it is. Off to the side in a separate building is a room dedicated to introducing visitors to... More

Beautiful mosque, especially the amazing ceilings. Lovely surrounding gardens and great views. I would definitely recommend a visit here

Can't imagine you would visit Muscat and not go here; such splendour. Go early, preferably, if possible when a cruise ship is not in port.

Obviously it's one of the must see locations when in Muscat. The architecture is nice and the big chandelier is impressively big. If you are interested in details you can get a lot of information in the visitors center including a typical Omani coffee and a date or water.

Managed to visit first time at the wrong time so couldn't get in, just had a walk around outside which was impressive enough. Returned the next day and went inside, well worth the visit.

Very beautiful mosque with nice gardens and a tasteful interior design. The entry and service is not great.

There are two car parks. One that is posted as the visitors car park. If you enter the mosque through there, they provide you with a free audio tour that describes how it was built, the heritage and design elements etc etc. Strongly advise it if you are there as a visitor. The second car park is for people entering... More

An early visit proved successful as the tour buses were few !!! Spread over a huge area this grand mosque is a must see if in Oman. It's a photographers paradise. Guides are available but we walked around viewing all the praying areas and gardens at our leisure. The visitors centre, staffed by enthusiastic staff, explained the workings of the... More

We didn't know what to expect. Like everybody else we read our guide book and decided just to give it a go. 1st room we thought ... "well really that's it !?!" but it was us being completely wrong. The place is just amazing, extremely peaceful. Everywhere you look, your eyes catch fine details. Elegance is the best word to... More
