Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Bloody wonderful, I have just noticed the other reviewers visited years ago so a lot has changed. Great facilities, parking, clean beach and chatty locals...walk into the warm clean sea or roast on the beach...you could even go for a stroll ...wonderful.

Wow the turquoise color of the water here was mesmerizing! If you do the grand circle island tour with Island Girl Tours you will stop by here after lunch - and it'll be well worth it!

Visited here twice on our week's holiday. The first time was on a Festival Day and the beach had Tobagan music playing loudly from a bandstand. There were a few food stalls and a busy bar. There was loads of colour on the locally dressed women. All ages were represented and we saw a crowd of fishermen at the far end of the beach, landing an enormous catch of jumping, silver fish. Everyone seemed very excited about this catch, including the large flock of laughing gulls and pelicans who kept flying around and then settling on a raft near the large, square landing net.
Then we watched a huge crowd of people in brightly coloured clothing, walk along the length of the beach both ways and then gather around, near the centre at the edge of the sea. They were all singing hymns and eventually we saw them dip different people in the sea whilst the white robed officials prayed over them. It was quite a spectacle and we were pleased to have seen such a local event.
The second time we visited,it was quieter and we sat on the beach under the palm trees and read our books in perfect quiet and peace apart from the laughing gulls.

This beach has a very nice place to park your car but that's about it. There concession stands were closed, the employees were actually down right rude, and the beach was dirty. We drove in, took a look around and drove right back out to go back to Englishman's Bay Beach. One positive note on this beach, it s quite large. During our November visit this was not a good choice for a day at the beach.

This beach had a security post and a bar with snacks, drinks and washrooms. Ample parking and lovely flowers were planted alongside the car park. We were able to buy snacks and drinks at the bar and enjoyed the bay.

Nice beach surrounded by nature. A really nice place to take a dip before taking the rainforest road!

Bloody Bay Beach was was dirty, polluted, and unwelcoming. Once we arrived we soon realized how terribly bad it is compared to other beaches nearby, we took one look at the beach and immediately left. Steer clear.

An excellent beach with nice clean facilities (toilet, change rooms) and life guards. Safe beach for swimming (not steeply sloping). Good little art gallery selling great ice cream and good paintings by local artist.

In parlatuvier bay you can walk out on the dock and interact with local fisherman/woman doing there craft. You will also be able to see many sting races on below the dock

Shurland James Nature Park is a small enclave on the roadside leading from Bloody Bay up to the rain forest reserve. It's a beautiful place to stop and while away some time watching the numerous birds visiting the feeders which Shurland lovingly tends. She is a fount of knowledge on the birds and other wildlife of the area and is happy to share her knowledge and viewing of the feeders for a very small charge (30 TT) to pay towards the food and upkeep of the area. The charge is on an honesty basis; the only reason this review is scored at 4 is because I would have liked to see some information about the resident birds, which cannot be made available without additional funds, so please be honest and put your payment in the basket if Shurland isn't available to collect it in person.
Birders please note, the 'park' hosts all the hummingbirds to be found on the famous Gilpin Trail, including the rare White Tailed Sabrewing, which frequently and openly visit the feeders. There are also plenty of photo opportunities at this spot.
