If you only visit one...
Sep. 2019
If you only see one winery in the entire region, see this one! We visited multiple wineries on our trip, and this was everyone’s favorite, by a long shot. The picturesque setting is right out of a story book, with an original medieval castle (turrets and a moat!), and very well-manicured grounds. The guided tour is an easy 45 minutes and includes time in both the vines themselves as well as the production facilities (not all wineries offer both!). Our tour was led by the incredibly knowledgeable guide, who answered questions from all of us (aged 7 to 80) with ease. We were all intrigued. The post-tour tasting was engaging, with generous pours that helped us really get to know the wines. (Some other wineries poured such a small drop into the glass that it was impossible to swirl & smell anything!) Even the children got to do a tasting of white and red grape juices. We enjoyed ourselves, and we didn’t want to leave. I highly recommend booking a tour here!

Lovely to be my first chateau
Jul. 2019 • Friends
The mill looking structure hosted the tastings. I am used to the Napa/Sonoma-style tastings of a set menu, but this seemed to be a “choose your own adventure” or at least that is what we got. They wines were great and the setting was marvelous. My 7 year old child was with us. He played in the yard after our quick tasting which was nice. The main building had a private event going, but the husband still opened the door and peaked inside. Surprise... there’s a moat!
Plus public restrooms by the warehouse to utilize before we left.

Took a private your with 10 people today & enjoyed it

We did the wine tasting and went inside the buildings where wine is processed and very impressive. The castle is closed for some reason? It is very pretty and well-kept grounds. Out tour was handled by a young intern who had been there about a month and was extremely knowledgeable and good in explaining everything. Our group purchased several bottles of wine.

Left with 3 boxes - value for money
May 2019 • Friends
The chateau was also interesting and well maintained. But our main aim was the wine, as it was recommended by friends. At the very end I bought 3 boxes of different good wines - the value for money counts. It was almost the only chateau what was opened in the region during the public holidays - indication of the dedication.

Two in one visit

Worth a visit just for the 13 century chateau. Add in an informative tour and delicious wines and it’s worth the short 15 min drive from Bordeaux

Disaster.

Customer service is simply disaster. They want you to pay, but they simply do not care. Just shift responsibility to somone else, that also does not care.

Beautiful chateau and grounds, friendly staff, tasty wine
Jul. 2018 • Friends
We booked our visit in advance, 12 euros for a tour and tasting of four wines. The gardens, grounds, and vineyards provide a lovely backdrop for the historic and imposing Chateau, though you can't visit the inside. Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable, with good English skills. The wine is tasty and good value.

Elegant chateau, beautiful wine
Jul. 2018 • Family
I chose this chateau to visit after reading reviews saying it was 'child friendly'. In the end this was a good choice. The chateau is beautiful, but unfortunately not open to see inside. We had hoped to have an ipad tour for children around the property, but unfortunately someone recently stole the ipad used for this. .. but we were able to use the regular adult tour on the ipads (they are trying to get kids program going again). It's a pleasant walk around the property at your own pace (they also have a guided tour in english).
The best part was the wine tasting, 4 lovely wines, and an introduction for each about the type of grapes/soil. The staff were knowledgeable, friendly and unhurried. I enjoyed all the wines, we bought a Rose to take with us on our travels.

What a huge dissappointment
May 2018 • Family
Tried to visit with 2 kids as the Bordeaux website and chateau's own website complimented on this place as childfriendly. That, among other promises made, did not follow through. There was nothing for kids (the ipad adventure is no available, the castle is unavailable to visitors). The lovely forest is gourded with electic wire so no strolls available. The whole place was a huge dissapointment. Wanted to leave as soon as possible.
