- Sophie M1 contributionGreat way to spend a couple of hoursAmazing couple of hours spent looking around and inside the volcano. There are information boards as you walk around, but a few of them have been damaged, so they can't be read in all 3 languages. The terrain is flat; in parts, the gravel is quite thick & can feel like trudging through sand, so leave push chairs in the car. Car park is quite small for such a busy attraction, go either early morning or afternoon. There are a few winery places nearby to get a coffee, tapas, toilet etc.Visited March 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 15 March 2024
- TEESHIRTSUNTANBradford, United Kingdom111 contributionsOh, yeah, it’s free and no queues!!!We knew the car park would be full and it was.. we headed off disappointed but there is another car park about half a mile away which was empty ish..! We walked back along the road. Walk to the volcano is easy, well trodden and flat. We walked anti clockwise and walked into the caldera, lots of great photos to be had. Track is gravel in parts so difficult with pram or buggies but decent boots and some water is all you need. Couple or five decent wineries on the way back , specifically Stratvs which has a fantastic sitting out area to the rearVisited March 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 22 March 2024
- MalcHLoughborough, United Kingdom2,886 contributionsFabulous little hikeFabulous little hike where you get to walk inside the volcano. Car park isn’t the largest although we had no problems parking. Takes around 30-40 mins to get to the volcano where you can walk around the circumference, and go inside the crater. Walk itself is pretty flat other than going down into the crater itself. Amazing landscape to see on the way and some great photo opportunities. Make sure you wear decent footwear and definitely not sandals. The path is made up of a very coarse gravel. Also take some water as it can get very hot. Worth mentioning that the review before mine which gives only one star is not actually about this place so would suggest you ignore it especially where it talks about paying €20 !! Parking is free, entrance is free, hiking is free, and some amazing views. Highly recommend.Visited July 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 14 July 2024

You have to pay €20 per person as a entrance ticket and then spend half of a day sitting in the car in a never-ending queue to get to the top of volcano. Everything is so unorganised. If I knew it looks like that I would not bother to go there. Waste of time and money.

Great way to view lava fields/volcano and learn a bit more about the eruptions which changed Lanzarote in about 1730.
Short walk if you just want to see inside crater but worth the time to go right round. Well marked path with good notice boards giving info (a previous review said faded but they must have been replaced as very clear).
The path is gravel so don’t wear flip flops or open sandals! Relatively flat so would suit most. Probably not suited to baby buggies because gravel hard to push them through.
It is a natural park so no facilities. Depending on weather/time of day it could be in full sun/windy in bits.

You can get the bus here, although the bus stop is about 20-30 minute walk away. I would avoid wearing sandal (even hiking sandals) as the lose fine volcanic rocks get in them easily so trainers are strongly recommended. A flat and easy circular walk around the base of the crater then inside of it if you go on the path to your left that takes just under an hour. If you go to the path to your right it is shorter and direct to inside the crater. There are various information signs around to read about the volcanic landscape and crater.

Really enjoyable, incredible to see close up.
Having read the reviews, we took the left turn as we got to the volcano, taking the longer route around it, and finishing up in the crater. This was good, but with 2 kids in tow, and in the heat, did lead to a little moaning! After the initial view, the walk is a little repetitive.
The total walk from the car park, left turn, all round, into/out of the crater and back to the car park was just over 2.5 miles. So not a huge walk, and I enjoyed it. However if you want a shorter route, simply turn right and you hit the crater pretty soon; this is the real peak of interest, so worth considering if you have kids or don't fancy the longer walk in the heat...
Well worth the trip, incredible to imagine what it was like in 1730! The information boards along the trail are a little dry to say the least - reminded me of GCSE Geography.
Car parking is relatively limited. There were 2 coaches parked when we arrived, and we got the penultimate space. This was around 10:30am in October. As we left, there were numerous cars seeking spaces and making some interesting and challenging manoeuvres to get parked!

Nice walk to do as a family. Choose the path on the right surrounding the volcano. We accessed with a baby seat. With stones you have to make a little effort but you can.
You access the inside of the crater. It has a horseshoe shape

An excellent short and level walk to, around and into the El Cuervo volcano, the first to erupt in the 18th Century six year tumult. Walking on the path with distant views across the badlands in all directions is amazing. If you have time, go clockwise around the volcano so going through the ground level breach into the crater happens at the end. A spectacular and awesome place with a tiny fraction of the foot traffic of Timanfaya - and it’s free.
PS. Teenage sons liked that it featured in the apparently not-so-good Marvel film The Eternals (with heavy CGI).

On an island covered in volcanos, finally one you can walk into….extinct of course. Approx an hour from the car park to walk to the volcano, walk into it, then circumnavigate the external perimeter.
The walk to and from the volcano from the car park is Martian surface like. Worth an hour on anyone’s time…and free

interesting walking around the volacanoa nd entering the crater and absorbing the large size of it. the part of the path to the entrance of the crater is more interesting and beautiful than the rest of it. If you are lacking time, you may return after the crater

I bambini pagano?

(me refiero andando).
Gracias

Hola,
