This was my first trip to Harbour Island and the experience was quite unexpected. I thought I was going to experience the quiet, serene island charm, as was the case with the other Eleuthera settlements. I received the shock of my life with the congestion,...More

Dunmore Town on Harbour Island is relatively clean, safe, friendly, with several hidden charms that beg to be explored. There are secure marinas and resorts such as Valentines and Romora Bay. There are upscale restaurants and local bars with cold Kalik and Sands beer. Conch...More

Golf carts are a-plenty here. It seems that they are the preferred mode of transportation on island and there ain't nothing wrong with that considering the town and island are not too large. Some history here, a bit of shopping and more than a few...More

We went with a relative who's a history nut. I guess if you're like him, you might enjoy it. 12 bucks to see a house of the time with a guided tour about Wilson who really didn't spend much time there.

The sights walking thru Dunmore Town were pleasant. Don't visit in September if you looking for nite life and shopping. This is the perfect time for those who want the entire pink sand beaches to yourself! If you want to strictly relax and enjoy the...More

This is the main drag on the island. Its small and easy to navigate. Take your holf cart. The local restaurants are (ie not the resorts) and have great food and beer gor a real bahama experience. Its rustic and authentic. No upscale resorts.

Dunmore Town, Harbour Island is a special place. Dusty streets and gas-powered golf carts. Few cars. Locals and visitors work, eat, and play close together. It is not fancy or modern, but there are many beautiful parts and luxury can be found in some of...More

Anyone have suggestions on golf cart rentals? Cost to expect? Can we pick up and drop off at ferry? Any tips would be helpful.

Be careful using a credit card at cart rentals. One stole our number and ran up quite a bill in the US even though we were in the Bahamas. Air travel, phone cards, sneakers, etc. Beware!!!!
