Really in decline

This used to be a wonderful place but has declined badly in recent years. A little investment and updating would really help

This is a very relaxing place to visit and has a wide variety of herbs, including some very unusual ones as well as other plants. The informality of the place is what we find attractive and if people want regimented garden centres this is not for them. Th extensive gardens to wander around are also a nice feature.

My Husband and I have been Visiting this charming nursery every summer for several years now for our annual plant buying session and let our two young boys run wild for an afternoon. Always find a great range of stock - both unusual and hard to get Herbs and plants but also a fab range of seeds. The staff there... More

Don't waste your time. Run down and shabby. Used to be good many years ago but gradual decay has got the better of it.

Overgrown gardens, extremely shabby nursery with very low, poor quality stock. Tearoom/gift shop had a horrible damp smell. The owner/staff member seemed depressed and slightly hostile when I approached with a herb I wanted to buy. I wonder what happened here as it used to be a hugely interesting and well-stocked place for both culinary and medicinal herbs.

Popped into Iden Croft Herbs after not visiting for a few years. It used to be such a wonderful tranquil place set in a delightful situation and my kids loved going there over 20 years ago. We did stop for a coffee but the patio area is covered in weeds and everything has been left to overgrow - so shabby... More

Haven't visited Iden Croft Herbs for about six years. Used to love coming here as it had great plants and really lovely gardens. It had a sort of old world charm. Popped in Sunday on the way home from somewhere else and we were really saddened by its downfall. It looked almost derelict. The plants that were on offer looked... More

I used to live in Staplehurst and loved visiting Iden Croft with my children as it was a lovely friendly place. NOT ANY MORE. It is now run down and shabby, but more importantly, the owner appeared annoyed by my appearance late in the afternoon. She shouted that I only had 10 minutes even though it was twenty minutes before... More

Agree totally with ' Dated and shabby'. We also made a long journey to visit and wanted to buy plants. The owners seem to have given up. We wanted refreshment but quickly noticed the place looked in such a mess that we would not risk even a cup of tea. Everything looked neglected and was also expensive. Afterwards we came... More

We drove quite a long way to see the herb garden, because of the earlier reviews. We had a look at the nursery and the coffee shop and based on them decided not to bother with the herb garden. The herbs were expensive with many of them looking past their best. The chairs out side the coffee shop were filthy,... More
