About
Paul Cluver Wines is located in the cool-climate Elgin Valley. This family-run winery has roots that go back four generations. Recognised as pioneers of wine in the area, the focus is on producing elegant wines that are expressive of the terroir. The winery forms part of larger holistic farming business called 'De Rust Estate'. In addition to the vineyards and cellar, there are apple and pear orchards, a Hereford stud and eco-tourism activities, including amphitheatre concerts and mountain biking, on the farm. The estate forms part of the UNESCO world heritage site, the Kogelberg Biosphere. Half of the estate has been set aside for conservation into perpetuity.

Lunch at Paul Cluver Restaurant
Apr. 2021 • Couples
Great service, stunning views, the food was delicious and the wine sublime. Loved watching the tractors trundle by with their crates of freshly picked apples. Well worth the visit.

Brilliant lunch at Fresh
Apr. 2021 • Family
Had an brilliant lunch at fresh with the family. There is something for everyone. The atmosphere was superb, and service great. We had the tomatoe soup and freshly baked focaccia and the line fish with carrot purée and fresh veg. It was delicious. Kids thoroughly enjoyed decorating their own cup cakes. Definitely worth it!

A wonderful way to end a weekend away
Feb. 2021 • Family
We stopped off at the Paul Cluver wine estate for a tasting and a spot of lunch on our way back from a weekend in Arniston.

What a lovely surprise!

A small wine estate by normal standards but very welcoming in lovely surroundings.
Their new tasting rooms - which Libby, the lady in charge, is very proud of, are beautifully furnished with wood sustainably obtained from the farm ! There was even A bowl of freshly picked apples which we were invited to taste- along with the wines - which are very easy on the palette and not too harsh on the pocket!
We then went for lunch (for which we had made a booking ) and even though they were seriously short staffed ( due to the pandemic) we were made to feel sincerely welcome and served with delicious, well presented , nicely portioned food .
As we had very active 9 month old baby with us it was really nice to be able to entertain him on the well manicured lawns near our table .

Thank you to all for a lovely afternoon!

The Paul Cluver Wine Estate is well worth a visit !

Wine tasting

Thoroughly enjoyed our wine tasting under the Plane tree. Wine host was excellent, Reisling & Sauv Blanc exceptional - perhaps ambiance really is 40% of the taste 😉

Spectacular Wines
Mar. 2019 • Couples
Try the range! Paul Cluver was mostly known to me for late harvest Riesling and for spectacular Sauvignon Blanc. What a pleasant surprise it was to also find a delightful Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, both of which were fantastic with our meal at Salt at Paul Cluver. Highly recommend!!!
