Omg what a find! Tucked away we nearly drove past it. It's a bar that serves basic cafe style meals (we didn't eat there but it looked good). But if you're interested in WW1 memorabilia this is a must! It's a private collection and it's huge. Dominique is so passionate and knowledgeable. We chatted to him about a relative that was killed nearby and he disappeared out the back of the bar and came back with print outs and maps to show us where is last steps were. We ended up staying there all afternoon. His back garden has loads of trenches filled with genuine finds (I believe this was a lockdown project) The other half of the bar is a small museum which was equally as fascinating. Can't recommend this place enough. My other half is going back in a few months to show his son.

This museum and restaurant in the north of France is situated in the heart of the Somme Battlefields. An area where Australians in the First World War had an enormous presence and suffered huge losses. It is a place of significance for Australia. Le Tommy is owned and operated by one of the most inspirational and passionate people I have ever met in my life. Dominique Zanardi. He has created this place entirely on his own and is a true testimont to one man's dedication to remembering what Australian sacrifice in the area and to provide visitors with information and history like no other museum in this area can offer. He has a fantastic museum there full of amazing and original artifacts , weapons, uniforms well everything.Outside he has created the most unbelievable replica full sized trenches for people to view and his attention to detail is second to none. For anyone travelling the Somme at anytime this place is a 'must see'. Its warm welcoming friendly with good food all provided whilst stepping into history. There are a few souviners also available . HIGHLY RECOMMENDED .

Fantastic collection of memorabilia and even more impressive is the display of WW1 German and Australian trenches. Good inexpensive food, and Dominic, the proprietor has a wealth of knowledge of the battles and stories of WW1. A must if you're in the Pozieres area.

Stopped off first for coffee. It was stale and expensive. Then lunch which was poor. The place has a bit of a captive audience with so many battlefield tourists passing through. But it is not good and any competition would surely beat it! Another 10 minutes drive into Albert and you have a great choice. Very disappointing.

For a small fee you can visit the museum attached to the cafe - this includes a trench reconstruction but, on the way to that, there's a back room whose walls are covered with photographs and extracts of the experiences of the soldiers - very moving and well worth the visit.

We stopped here for food not realizing there would be a museum and trenches out back.
The food was great, and reasonably priced, and then after a little debate we decided to pay for and visit the museum and trenches. There are so many artifacts, well worth it.

If your anywhere near to the village of Pozieres you have to visit Le Tommy.
We were there at lunchtime so stopped of for a bite to eat. The food was first class with the added bonus that three tables were taken up by French locals, always a sign of a good eating place in my book.
Le Tommy has its own museum (inside and out) there is a small charge for the museum but in our case the owner waived the fee as we had lunch there.

Dominique tth ownerof Le Tommy is a fountain of knowledge. If you are an Australian visiting Pozieres this is a must see. Something Domnique has done that our Goverment, Aust War Memoril or Defence Force can give you. He has personally researched by Division Name Rank and where the 7000 brave young men who lost their lives durig the Battle of Pozieres Juy 1916. He has this list on the wall in the restaurant. So if you have lost a relative here in Poziees Dominique would be honoured if you talk to him and he will even be able to tell you the approx place that they died. Well done Dominique and thank you for remembering our boys. e know that you care a great deal for these men

Way a great little museum! The owner has recreated a trench in his back garden and filled the whole bar with artefacts and information, it was brilliant - a must visit. You can even have a drink and some simple, filling food afterwards. Don't expect gourmet dishes but you'll certainly be full and satisfied for a good price!

In the heart of the Somme , in the small French village of Pozieres is a hidden treasure. This whole area its seeped in Australian WW1 history and it comes to life in this local Restaurant and Museum. This is the private collection of a French gentleman who has had a passion for the military history in the area since he was a child. The food is great , it is not a fine dining experience but the beer is cold and wine is French, the speciality of the establishments is the replica trenches out the back that are filled with incredible historically significant artefacts from the war, and the amazing collection of original pieces held in the museum. The area itself is the resting place for over 5000 young Australians, following some of the fiercest fighting of the war . When visiting the Somme its a must to call in , meet the owner and get swept up in the history available there to see , when a young Australia came of age.
