Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Had a nice hike on the mountain organized by Kara-tunga, and visited very interesting villages deserted because if the drought. Even if the last hundred of metres below the actual top were really scary, the view was amazing!

Well, when I headed for my very first hiking adventure in the North of Uganda I had a rough idea about what was there to come. I knew I was about to climb a mountain and to spend one night up there. But I'd have never expected it to be that breathtaking - I'll never ever forget the gigantic views over the endless plains of the valley, dry and dusty, from which the green majestic mountain ridges arise. I had my tour guided by a young dynamic company called Karatunga Arts& Tours. But afterall I can say: They don't just offer random guided tours. They let you explore the paradise by yourself. It is not any adventure. It is YOUR adventure. Completely personalized, according to all the wishes you might have. The knowledge they provide you with is more than basic tourist information. You will not just get facts about the local people for example but fully understand their culture and way of living.
When visiting locals on our way I never felt like a disturbing tourist because you really don't get any extra attention. You just watch silently, exchanging shy smiles and having fun with the kids when letting them play with your camera.
Having the tent and a fireplace prepared you sit there with a warm cup of coffee in your hands while staring into the flames and seeing the milky way, bright and clear.
No matter what question you might have, you can ask millions of them - assisted by the crew of Karatunga which knows the local language as they are Karamojong themselves. Every single question will be answered and stunning stories will amaze you, leaving you a bit dreamy and meditative in front of the crackling fire when the sun sets before you fall asleep right there, on your traditional piece of cloth, on the bare ground, nothing above you besides the sky and all these beautiful stars. This is something you have to experience yourself because words could never describe what a tiny human heart feels during magical moments like these.

Summing it all up I suppose it's almost unnecessary to mention I'd recommend a tour with Karatunga Adventures. Actually, it's more like a must if you plan to go to East Africa.

Thank you Karatunga, for making my stay in Uganda unforgettable. I couldn't have wished for more than I eventually got. You are amazing, keep up your admirable passion!

Although it was physically quite challenging, it was an amazing trip to do! It was a 3,5 hour walk up to the camping-spot. The guides told me it was another 2 hour up to the top, but that was to optimistic for someone from the flattest countries in the world. So it took me another 3 hours to reach the top, sometimes walking on ridges that looked very dangerous. But the view was amazing. The night at the campsite (no facilities) was unforgettable with the fire and the young boys who were around at the Kraal. The atmosphere was so relaxed!
