The Catherdal has a square opposite so good for photos. There is not so much to see inside the ceiling is painted with biblical themes but not the most impressive. The walls show signs of serious deterioration from water, there are no windows here.

Very nice church fronting a plaza. Maasin city is a very clean and tourist friendly place. All public vehicle drivers are honest, I salute them. Church is well.maintained and looks grandeur and grand. This church is also near resto and govt offices, like a typical plaza....everything is within the circumference of the plaza, wherein the church is the major attraction... More

I attended the mass at 4.00am, Sunday and Christmas mass. They had a beamer which gave the churchgoers an information about the Eucharistic congress and the visit of Pope Francis on January 15, 2015 in Tacloban. I love this church and sat on the front. I cannot speak visaya but I felt the presence of God here. It was calm... More

Beautiful Cathedral in Maasin city. Nice artwork inside on the ceiling and really nice facade. Worth popping in to have a look.

There isn't much going on in Maasin but we were passing through and I wanted to see the Cathedral. Its pretty but there wasn't much going on when we were there and there isn't much for a tourist other than Jolibee across the street. Not a bad stop for 10 minutes.

Maasin Cathedral is worth a look if you're in the city, the contrast between the outside and inside of the building is interesting, particularly when compared to many of the others in the country. Well looked after and a peaceful place in the heart of one of my favourite Filipino cities.

This small and lovely cathedral is made of coral blocks carved from the ocean lying before it. Maasin is the capital of Southern Leyte and there are a reasonable amount of resources there, including food and housing, to facilitate your trip to Maasin. Facilities are very near but obviously the church does not serve lunch! The cathedral can be seen... More
