Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Apollonas beach is set on Naxos north at the same name small town. We were all day out exploring the island middle and north, and this village seemed a nice place for a break.
Few tavernas and bars are just by this small beach and we used one of them for lunch. Had a nice swim before and after our meal, so it was a good place to have a break.

If you want to spend your vacation away from the noise of the city and hang out all day at the beach, Apollo is the place you want.
Apollo will find cheap rooms to stay overnight (Adonis hotel, Kouros hotel,Flora's Apartments). Nice restaurants to dine ("Nikos" ,"Kalimera" {dont eat elsewhere}). natural and relaxed café and bar.
The natural beauty combined with the history of the place will amaze you.
There are 2 beaches (in one) to choose from, pebbles, sand and blue waters.
We look forward to go back!

Apollonas Beach is a true gem quietly tucked away in the North part of Naxos Island. The beach is divided naturally into two areas--the first a beautiful sandy beach and the other a pebbled beach. Both are stunningly beautiful, the water is clean, the waves sometimes calm and sometimes rough depending on the wind. The village of Apollonas itself is charming, quaint, with traditional Aegean tavernas serving locally caught fresh fish, spit roasted lamb and goat, traditional Greek cuisine prepared from locally grown delicious organic ingredients. You can relax with an icy cold frappe at one of the local cafes to escape the hot sun, or just work on your tan and cool off in the water! There are two hotels, Hotel Adonis where owner Stamatis’ warmth and hospitality are matched by great service, delicious and lovingly prepared food, coffee or locally produced wine depending on your mood. At the Hotel Kouros/Flex Bar, Chris serves up great drinks with fabulous music until the wee hours of the morning. There are beautiful hiking trails up Kalogeros Mountain (best to do before sunrise because it gets hot quick!) and around the village area, natural springs, and an ancient Kouros statue at the top of the village.
Apollonas is a little piece of heaven on Earth. It’s an example of why Naxos Island is one of the most highly rated islands not only in Europe, but on Earth! There is something truly special about this place, which is why I have been back to Naxos and Apollonas many times and plan on returning again this summer. I truly feel like I am at home and in heaven there.

Clean sand, Crystal water and friendly taverns, this is my happy place on Naxos. Access it on an organised trip of by public bus but be aware that the journey is up to two hours along winding, sometimes high mountain roads.

We spent 6 nites at nearby Hotel Adonis and took the short walk to the beach every day. The water was lovely and clean, sandy bottom so no beach shoes required. The restaurants surrounding the bay were many and varied. Some offering drinks and snacks, others offered full meals with fresh fish, shrimp, sandwiches, pizza etc. We were able to leave our towels (and beach chairs we rented from our hotel) on the beach while we stepped away for lunch, feeling very safe to leave our things while we ate.

We took the bus from Naxos town so we could enjoy the sometimes hair raising mountain roads! Journey took about 90 minutes but it didn't seem long as the views were interesting and we passed through numerous small villages.
The bus seems to be used for transporting goods to the villages so we dropped off dog food and tomatoes en route!
Apollon is remote but has a small beach with all the facilities you would need and a surprising number of very good restaurants lining the seafront.
Had coffee and then wandered around the resort before having a leisurely lunch.
It would be a nice resort to stay in for a couple of days as it has everything you need and is quieter and has a different feel to the beach resorts nearer Naxos town.
Our return journey was on a smaller bus and a slightly different route so the driver was able to go faster. It took just over an hour.
Definitely a nice trip to do.

About 45 minutes by bus from Naxos town, Apollonas Beach has a very local feel to it. It is a beautiful but small clean white sand beach with not many people on it. The water is calm and crystal clear. There is a series of cafes along the waterfront and some nice traditional Greek buildings in the town. There are change rooms and showers on the beach. It is quite close (by driving) to the famous ancient Kouros Statue, which is worth a visit if you are near Apollonas.

This is a pretty spot about 1.5 hours from Naxos town by local bus. The bus leaves Naxos at 0930 and travels along the inside of the island. There is some spectacular scenery but the bus windows were pretty dirty so pictures don't take well. You can leave at 1530 and tske the same route as getting there, or leave at 1400 and hug the coastline. Cost is 6 euros each way.

Two beaches in one....the sandy beach is great for suntanning and for kids to play, the rocky one is beautiful and quieter! The Aegean water is clean and just beautiful...I loved swimming from one beach to the other (NOT FOR NOVICE SWIMMERS!!!) and then walking back! My kids loved swimming playing "construction site" with the sand and pebbles!
