Walked up from Cromford Canal tea room area. Very steep ascent. Lots of glorious views across the countryside. Sheer drops in some places so advise keep dogs on leads and children well supervised. Lots to absorb and it is very peaceful.

We took the dogs and while some bits are quite an incline, there are some amazing views and great opportunities for some lovely photos, best for a dry day but an overall lovely walk.

A nice outing for an afternoon. Some light walking, scenic views and a tea room. Parking is expensive (Derbyshire County Council) so park in Wirksworth and walk up to the site. Great for a couple of hours. Make sure you take in all of the...More

Best of both worlds you can go flat land along the old train line or hill climbing. If you are in to push bikes start at Cromford canal end there’s a very nice hill but if you have a weak heart don’t.

Cracking view from the top of Black Rocks links to the High Peak Trail a disused train line which is now used for cycling or walking

This craggy rocky outcrop isn’t exactly one of the world’s great geological features, but it is a bit of a local landmark, and if you are able to climb up, you’ll be afforded sweeping and wonderful views across towards the Peak District National Park. The...More
